Turning back to Glen then, “..Well if you and your staff could go get registered at the Academy front desk with your lessons plans you’ll all be free then to partake of your R&R till your class time. Though Captain Glen you are requested to see Academy Commandant Bradbury since the previous Commandant got reassigned last minute the other day.” he said.

“Rather unusual?” asked Glen. “There’s a longer story there, no doubt?”

”..Not sure! It’s above my pay grade..” Charles said.

Glen would need to find out more about the new mystery Commandant.

”..Unless you got any other questions for me I’ll escort you all to the front desk sign in..” he said.

“Not really,” replied Glen. “I wouldn’t mind taking a look around your red Squad fighter weapons school sometime, but I wouldn’t want to cause any inconvenience.”

”..Sure stop on by if you like in your free time. I’m usually there most days teaching tactics..” he said.

“Wouldn’t miss it!” added Glen, as they reached the desk and joined the queue.

Kord looked around. It was one of those rare times when he felt uncomfortable. He was never one for giving speeches and here he was expected to give a lecture to a few hundred students.

Tinga had a feeling that this assignment had been drawn up for them before her predecessor had suddenly left for Vulcan. Luckily there were times when Tinga enjoyed talking and she would just have to turn this into one of them.

Cross was seen walking towards Tinga ‘’Lt what have I missed?’‘ she asked in a barley audible voice.

Tinga leaned in and spoke to the CMO.

“Just introductions and an offer of escort to be signed in etcetera etcetera.” she said quietly.

The doctor nodded, relieved that she had not missed anything, considering how much this meant to their Captain and to her.She was adamant to pass on what Cross thought and felt was not present or included when expected or supposed to be.

Nkosenye came up to the group, ignoring some of the looks his height inevitably drew. Looking around, he said to no one in particular “Not much has changed since I was here as a Cadet.”

“A building extension, I think? A hideous new decor scheme! And that weird statue out the front,” said Glen. “Other than that, no it’s just the same old Academy.”

Cross gave Nkosenye a quick nod and a gaze before lowering her eyes,if Nkosenye was a keen observer he would notice that Cross was wearing brown contact lenses, obviously to hide the true color.............. lest anyone inquired about it.

When they reached the desk, Glen told the Clerk, “We are guest lecturers from the USS Merrimack, here to get our All Area Passes please!”

“Does this mean we can finally find the Secret tunnels that go to the Admirals Bar” chimed the Scottish scientist, having seemingly appeared from nowhere “I’m certain that it does exist” He looked around the hall, he’d never spent much time in the academy before. Only a few months of orientation.

The Clerk on duty looked up, “..Ah Captain!” The man said with a smile, “..good to have you all with us, here are our passes then. Only area off limit is that secret tunnel to the admiral’s bar..” He added with a wink and grin to the Scottsman. Handing each person a clearance pass. “..Just make sure you keep that on you at all times while on the Academy grounds please!” He asked.

Taking then the PADD with the information of the lessons and plan he nodded, “..Looks like everything is in order here then sir. Commandant Bradbury wants to meet with you specifically Captain at your convenience. Otherwise you and your staff will be called an hour before your expected presentations at their scheduled times. Any questions then?” he inquired.

That was the second time that Captain Glen had been told that Commandant Bradbury wanted to see him. He must want to see him very badly. However, Glen was so curious about the sudden promotion of the Commandant that he probably wanted to see him just as much as he did him. That meant his visit to see Red Squad would need to wait. The rest of his crew were free to roam though, and apart from that mythical secret tunnel they could go anywhere they wanted. Except that, despite what Nkosenye said, the place had changed enough that they were going to need some kind of map.

“Just one,” replied Glen. “It’s been a while since we all graduated and the site has grown a little. Do you have some sort of guide so we don’t get lost in the labyrinth of classrooms, shops, accommodation, offices and libraries?”

Glen, CO

Kord had spent some time at the academy about 40 years before. Unless there had been dramatic changes to the layout, Kord would remember much of the floor plan.
