“..Very well sir..” The cadet said making the announcement. =/\= Attention all cadets academy hall 1b lecture starts in 40 minutes! =/\=

Tinga made certain to arrive early and get a good seat for the XO’s lecture. Bre had told her that the Commander was an interesting person and anyone with two brain cells to rub together could probably learn a lot from him.

Cross found a seat near Tinga ‘’This could be one hell of an interesting and intriguing lecture’‘ she told her smiling ‘’With all his build up experience.. it should be’‘.

William took a seat close to the other two Department heads, only giving them a friendly nod. Although he too was interested in what this lecture would be like.

Glen was enthusiastic too. He had served with Kord for almost his entire time on the Merrimack and yet he knew practically nothing about his past. He was about as enigmatic a character as one could get, and yet the secrets he must know, the stories he could tell...... Would they get to hear some of them today? Glen wondered.

It was at this point the cadets started filing into the hall taking up much more of the seating, even a few of the instructors were present for this lecture!

Kord noted the arrivals beginning to filter in so he stood and went to the podium to prepare himself.

With Kord taking the stand to begin quiet fell over the lecture hall, everyone waiting for him to begin.

It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Nkosenye came in, moving disturbingly quiet for a man his size. He took a position against the back wall. Seeing Kord at the podium, he gave a slight nod of acknowledgement.

Kord looked up at the cadets, instructors, and his fellow crewmates.

“My species is old, long lived, and nearly extinct. I have been in this area of space for longer than Humans have had warp flight. I have seen the rise of the Federation, though I’ve had no direct involvement in it, from it’s infancy as the Coalition of Planets. I observed the unfolding events of the Babel Crisis…” Kord went on for about a half hour speaking of the Romulan attempt to destabilize the region as only a person that had been there could.

Tinga was listening intently. She had been informed correctly, not a lecture to miss.

Glen was also fascinated, not so much by the history which he was familiar with, but with the fact that Kord had never talked about himself in this detail before.

Cross had an intent and observed look as she listened attentively ,she had been on the same ship for quite same time and yet knew next to nothing about the man.The Cmdr had a habit of providing the required response in just one sentence…maybe two at the best of times.

Cross Dr.

William barely blinked as he listened to the Commander speak. He had heard rumours of the longevity of his people but he had no idea the man himself was so… ancient. This lecture would be completely different to the others, filled with historic information and what one can learn from that. It was going to be an interesting hour.

Kord continued.

“Now you know about as much as I do about the actual talks and diplomacy involved with United Earth, Vulcan, the Andorian Empire, Rigel, Denobula, Coridan, and Tellar as well as several minor planets. But even there there was still tension and a few that never joined due to political and theological differences. A large part of their refusal was due to the adherence that their type of governance was the only type that was correct and that anything else was an abomination or that their particular race was superior to all others and should be under their rule. cough Romulans cough” Kord paused.
