“Now, I will take your questions!”

“No questions?” Glen asked. “You must have some questions? Remember, I’m only here today!”

There was a general murmur and shaking of heads indicating ‘no’ surprisingly one of the Red Squad cadets Glen could note seemed to be checking his wrist watch continuously through the meeting lecture.

Tough audience, huh? thought Glen.

“Any question at all? Am I a dog person or cat person? Cat, by the way! Am I a fan of any sports team? Am I a good cook? Am I a hoarder?” asked Glen.

“You there! Second row, in the middle, checking your wrist watch every few minutes! Surely, you have a question to ask me?” Glen asked.

The red squad member looked up in a little surprise. “..Oh well yeah I was just wondering if we’re done here sir? I got an extra class credit course to get too.” He said.

Tinga wondered if the cadet was lying and maybe had a date instead. She couldn’t really sense anything on the subject but nothing would surprise her and she found the situation quite comical.

“I would want to stop you from making your grades,” replied Glen. “I hope some day you’ll go very far – and why not stay there too!”

Glen looked to the instructors, “Are we done here? I think I’m done?”

Nods came from the instructors who stood up to dismiss the cadets for their free period or others back to class, out the doors the cadets went trailed by several of the instructors. One Glen would note was a striking resemblance to the Admiral’s wife he had seen on his desk.

Cross giggled at the Captain’s remark and who could blame him, having wasted his precious time on these Cadets.

Will leaned closer to his group “I’m sorry but were the Cadets as bloody arrogant when you all went to the Academy?” He asked curiously, signs of clear perplexion on his face “I only took basic training, I was Non-Comm so I didn’t really get to be amongst these grand halls” He said with clear sarcasm.

However, John Glen wasn’t listening to Miriam and Cross. The woman; presumably the Admiral’s wife, that he had seen in the framed picture in Bradbury’s office, had piqued his interest. On a hunch he decided to follow her very discretely and at a distance. He quietly slipped away from his officers and out of the doors she had just exited.
