Kord set his fork down and put his hands in his lap.

“My childhood is a place of darkness, death, killing, and danger. Constant warfare. A battle over something that brings shame to my race.”

Kord’s bio-electric field went from feeling like a warm breeze blowing over her skin to sharp needles pricking the surface of her skin.

  • Kord

Tia was so sorry she said anything. But something told her that saying that was something he’d heard so many times it didn’t matter. The prickle on her skin was noticed enough that she set her own fork down.

Reaching over the corner the table, her teeth clenched as she forced herself not to rub her arms against the sensation, she touched his arm and looked into his eyes. “I’m glad,” was the first thing she said. Her voice shaking slightly. “Because it brought you here.”

When she touched his arm they could hear the electricity crackle just before she made contact. It was harsh against her fingers. He shook his head and the prickly feeling ceased. He’d reasserted control.

She took a couple deep breaths and tried to call herself against the feeling of her body being assaulted by a million acupuncture needles all at once. “And I’ll do everything in my power… to give you more good memories… to ease the pain of the bad ones.” She kept her eyes on him windering if he’d pull away or just shut down all together. She’d brought it on herself, and hated herself for it. But she’d mentally told herself at the beginning of this conversation that she wouldn’t be like ‘every other human’ he’d met. She just hoped she could keep the promise to herself… For his sake.

Kord’s body had relaxed again and he continued as if nothing had happened.

“It’s okay. You probably don’t know the history of my race. Not many do. You obviously noticed the change in my bio field. That’s because with my people, it’s also used in communication. Communicating without it is like speaking in whispers. I told you that you can ask me whatever you like, I won’t balk at it.”

Tia exhaled a breath she hasn’t realized she’d been holding, and relaxed the grip she had had on Kord’s arm. As he mentioned the electrical reactions being part of his communication, she smiled. “Something tells me learning your language will be interesting. Forgive me if my accents are off.” She winked to tease and moved her hand back to relax between them on the table .

“I know you said I could ask you anything. But I hope that if I ever delve into another hot topic, you’ll tell me it’s none of my business, or at least say it’s something you don’t want to talk about.” She helped herself to a bit more ice cream and toppings.

“I’ve been monopolizing the conversation. I’m sorry. I tend to talk more when I’m at a loss of what to do. If that makes any sense at all.” She laughed and the blush he was starting to see quite a bit of tonight, once more tinted her cheeks slightly. “What doyou want to talk about?”

OOC: I’ll get to this soon, I promise.

Grins… no worries
