Glen very quickly brought the Bridge crew up to speed on the details he had learnt. A relic of an ancient civilisation called the ‘Fastion Reality Stone’, an inverted “5” in shape, and made of undetermined, but rare and metallic materials, is rumoured to have the ability to allow its user to reshape reality itself. In the hands of the Klingons or Romulans it could sway the whole balance of power in the two Quadrants. The Orions probably already know about it, and they will sell that information, so, working together with the USS Avenger, we have to find it first for the security of the Federation. Our best guess and our first destination is an unnamed Minshara class planet in a system nearby called UEP-314.

Glen sat in the Captain’s chair.

NE Wideawakeclub came to the end of his shift and was replaced by NE AttheHelm. As no one thought that the events in Engineering were worth discussing, NE Wideawakeclub was still unaware that at the precise moment he had thought about tuna in a romesco sauce, it had become a reality down in Engineering. Still, it was probably unimportant on a mission to find a reality reshaping stone!

“Set a course for the system nearby called UEP-314,” Glen told Navigation.

“Tinga,” Glen said, “make to the Avenger that we are ready to depart.”

Tinga nodded and relayed the message as she thought over what the Captain had just said. What a prize indeed.

Glen mused to himself, The Avengers. That’s what we can call ourselves. Sorta like a team. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes type thing.

The Avenger signalled they were ready to leave just shy of 15 minutes later. As the two ships went to warp it might be a good idea for someone to inform the Captain of the oddities in engineering and the signal Tinga picked up in the area.

“I supposed nothing out of the ordinary happened while we were away, Nkosenye?” asked Glen, “You’re a natural! I knew there was nothing to worry about.”

“Sir. Engineering did report… unusual… occurrences in their section. The CSO was looking into it, I believe.”

Tinga turned to the Captain.

“Actually I did pick up an unusual signal,” Tinga informed Glen.

Kord took up his usual place standing next to the command chair to the right. He knew there was a seat for him to sit in but it hand never seen use, at least not by him.

“When we come out of Warp, standby with attack pattern Papa One,” Glen told Kord.

Kord checked the records for the exact maneuvers involved in that encounter.

“An unusual signal?” Glen asked Tinga, somewhat belatedly “Out here, any signal would count as unusual. What did you discover?”

NE Atthehelm spoke up, “..Sir the Avenger is signaling we are to arrive at UEP-314 in 10 minutes their Captain is recommending we approach from the opposite end of the system from them to break up any ambushes..” He said.

After reviewing the records of the encounter Kord looked to Glen.

“I’m ready to take control on your order.” he stated.

“Very good,” Glen said to Kord.

“NE AttheHelm,” Glen replied, “Signal that we acknowledge and will comply.”

”..Aye sir..” NE AtTheHelm said slowing the ship in a wide arc to the opposite side of the system

Tia had helped with the helm repair then stepped out to check on some engineering issues reported elsewhere. When she stepped back on the bridge, she bit back a smile at seeing Kord and the CO safely back. Taking her seat at engineering, she glanced at the terminal notes on what it has been tracking with anomalies and their current heading.

Tinga prepared to explain.

“It wasn’t so much an interference, but an annoying hum that spanned most of the comm range and seemed to be coming from in, and around, the system. Shall I play it for you?”

“I see,” replied Glen.

“Did this humming have a tune, otherwise, no, I think I can imagine a background hum. If that was the only odd thing that happened while we were away we were lucky! Last time we went to a meeting, aliens attacked us from out of a subspace bubble, and almost destroyed the Merrimack!” Glen joked.

“Well from my perspective no, and as for off things happening while you where away, you might want to speak to engineering.” she said with a smile.

Glen looked quizzically at Kord, then at Tiastri. “Engineering? Anything to report?”

<reply>

“How long has Lieutenant Grey been away? Has he reported back yet?” Glen asked. Glen wondered whether they should have left the system with such weirdness happening, and also whether the Avenger had experienced anything similar. If they had then no one had mentioned it.

<reply>

Captain Glen allowed the Merrimack to approach from the opposite end of the system from the Avenger to break up any ambushes, and for them to use attack pattern Papa-One should any Orion vessels be detected.

“Mr Atthehelm, impulse engines!” Glen told the Helm officer of the hour.

“Long range scans? Lifeforms, sub-space anomalies, anything out of the ordinary?” asked Glen.

If clear, it was the Captain’s intention to bring them into a standard orbit.

Kord when tot he tactical station and watched the read outs. He was ready to reach out and put the ship through the maneuvers Glen had designated Papa One.

“Open a channel to the Avenger,” Glen asked Tinga.

-Glen, CO

As the ship dropped from warp sensor scans showed the system had three planets. One Class M though there were signs of ruins on the surface that seemed quite old no sign of orions were in evidence so far.

Tinga glanced down at the console even though she could do this on automatic.

“Channel open sir.”

  • Tinga

Once the channel to the Avenger was open a reply came in =/\= Captain Rogers here Captain Glen, we are beginning our approach to the outer most planet which reads as a dead rogue moon, whats up? =/\= he asked.
