As Tinga got out of the lift, she saw NE Smith form Science had actually arrived there before her.“So you do want that promotion don’t you?” Ting asked, her antennae twitching in a gesture of humor as she made her way to one of the shuttles, “We’re just waiting for Erickson so, who’s the better pilot?”
He said to himself as he moved to the door to the shuttle bay as he placed his odd belongings in a locker. Then turned to face the officers gathered. “Reporting as ordered. Sir!”Jasper said calmly to the officer.
NE Merkle spoke up, “..We got a shuttle modified as best we can to sustain deep sea pressures, no clue how deep you can go though even with the shields up. Just be careful I guess.” Merkle said.
“What am I doing here??” Jasper asked no one in particular. “Am I going somewhere?? Shuttles ?? Deep-sea Pressures?? As he waited for the flag officer to answer him.He was totally lost at the whole situation. As he tried to understand and get the gist of what was going on.
Tinga made her way to the shuttle and turned to face Erickson and Smith.
“We’re going down tot he planet to investigate a deep sea trench which happens to be one of the places the indistinct hum is coming from. I believe it’s an easier place to investigate than the other sources.” she explained, “Any further questions?”

“I’ve made you three packed lunches,” said NE Kitchen handing them three bags.

“No SiR! No more questions.” Ericson replied to the comm officers comment. As he wondered why he was going. usually the entire team is usually present for the meeting before departing for such adventures. He was never called or summoned. “Which shuttle am I on? Sir!” Ericson asked looking at two active shuttles.

Tinga got the feeling that Erickson might be just a bit confused.
“We will be going on the one modified for deep sea exploration obviously.” she said with a smile, “We are the only team going, just the three of us. Your job will be to make certain the shuttle stays in one piece and pilot if your rating is better than mine.”

“My apologies Lieutenant. I was seeing both shuttles being loaded I assumed they were both going.” Jasper said with a now rather blushed face as he came onto the shuttle and took a seat. As he checked over the systems before launch. “All systems are online and functioning Luitenant.” Jasper said calmly and fell quiet as he awaited orders.

NE Smith quietly took a seat at the science station and Tinga boarded last.
“No worries. Begin launch sequence.” she said.

“Aye, sir!” Jasper commented calmly to her as he placed the thrusters and antigrav jets on standby as the door finished opening. “Standing by on shuttle doors.” A moment later he got the clear signal from the dockmaster to proceed. “On the move sir!” Jasper commented as he tapped a few buttons and the slid out of the shuttle bay int open space. as he turned and headed for the atmospheric approach. He would have preferred that the officer was sitting but he did not complain. “Closing on planet stand by for any turbulence as we enter the ionosphere.” Jasper warned as the closed but slid across with not even a rumble or shake. “Interesting!” Jasper commented softly. As he did a quick scan of the area and atmosphere as they passed. and the descending towards the target location and the ocean. Jasper was glad he had plenty of practice with shuttle when he was younger.
