Mooney was an old hand at the hurry up and wait game, and was a sleep when the call to report to the transporter room came. He woke with a start as the shuttle’s pilot kicked his boot and gave him the word.

As his aid bag was in his lap he was up and moving before his brain fully reengaged. His adrenalin began to spike as why else would they transport him over if things weren’t dire. Hiss running steps soon brought him to the turbo lift.

NChief Steve at the transporter controls spoke up. “..Hey chief how’s things going?” He asked.

“Looks like it’s time for me to earn my air, Steve. Any idea what’s going on?” Mooney stood there in his CES. A combat Environment Suit sounded much sexier that it really was, akin to the turnouts worn buy twenty first century fire fighters turnouts. It consisted of a tough synthetic fabrics that provided the wearer some protection from heat, radiation and chemical hazards, when combined with a life support belt it went on to provide atmosphere and biological protection as well. The the fabric was resistant to cuts, abrasion and penetration it was buy no means prof against large caliber firearms or energy weapons. The modular design allowed for the addition of some light armor and more specific hazardous environments. Tho a boarding and rescue mission didn’t rate the necessity for heavier gear.

”..Well looking at the scan prep for transport soon, seems like the Captain is beaming you folks over to some alien ship. Breathable atmosphere it seems though the temp is ranging around the 90* F mark. So probably will be a bit warm for you all there. Looks too like the aliens there had their ship break, life signs look good though no obvious wounded that I’m picking up but that’s not saying much I guess..” Steve said checking over scans.

His aid bag on the other hand was loaded to bear. Medical tri-corder and wand, modern injectables and a small medical synthesizer rounded out the high tech components, plus tourniquets, dressings, splints and Airway management tools.

Wile extradition tools hung from his belt, to include an old fashion individual fire axe.

Topping off his kit was his close spaces helmet, and it’s mil spec com set.

If not for the drab color, the Corpsman would pass as a member of an engineering damage control team, not a member of the medical department

“I might be over dressed for this party, or at least I hope so.” Mooney laughed wile he pulled of his helmet and clipped it to his belt. Climbing up to the platform and taking a pad near the rear he waited for the rest of the boarding party.
