[snip]Over by the science station the unmanned console beeped twice demanding attention from something on scans.
William spun the chair around. Usually, he would ignore random beeps but his ear was trained for that specific console’s sounds. He stood up and looked at the scans.

Seeing the CSO move like lightning, Dariusz said, “What is it Sir? Can I be of assistance?”

When William checked the scans he’d find a tight band energy pulse was being picked up by the system’s edge. The computer was still trying to process what it could be.

William furrowed his brow at the results “It’s a tight band energy pulse” He tapped a few more commands “Coming from the edge of the system, the computer needs a little bit more time to figure out what it is” He turned to the on-duty comm officer “Send for NE Lovecraft, I need this station to be manned” He returned to his seat “It might be nothing but I want to keep an eye out for anything.”
