The First was the first to speak up about leading the way for their coming tour. =/\= How might you like to continue this tour? As a group of one or divide up among your specialties and interests?=/\= She asked.

“We could likely get more information by splitting up and having a thorough debrief after, but the Federation is rather sticky in it’s rules about Commanding officers needing to be accompanied by a member of the crew capable of providing defense if it should be necessary.” Kord stated.

“And we aren’t pushed for time either, so no particular rush,” added Glen.

“And of course, no one would want to risk missing something everyone else gets to see,” Inola added with a grin.

“We’re agreed then!” replied Glen.

=/\= We’d like to continue together as a single group. We have sufficient time, and no one wants to miss anything out. If that is okay?” Glen replied.

A messenger came up to the Tri-Council then handing them a paper and conversing. There were nods and an exchange of signatures on the paper before the one spoke =/\= It seems even on historic days like this governance never ends. One of the tribal leaders is requesting our presence.=/\= She said.

=/\= Of course Captain. =/\= One of the Tri-Council members said nodding then. Turning then to the First. =/\= You and our advisors will accompany the party to our lead departments and explain our current efforts, history, and anything they wish to know. If there is any issues or concerns let us know. =/\= She said.

The First nodded bowing deeply, =/\= Of course, =/\= She said then turned to the Captain and the landing party as the Council departed back to the governance hall. =/\= Where would you be interested in touring first as a subject? =/\= She asked.

Kord was interested in the architecture and city infrastructure but he was sure others would find that boring. Besides, he could get that information from surface scans though it wasn’t the same as seeing it in person. So, he looked to Glen.

“What interests you most Captain?” he asked.

“It shouldn’t be just about me, but as you well know, my own interests are archaeology and a little geology, and I like looking at old telescopes and optical instruments. I thought you would want to see the architecture and city infrastructure. Maybe we could get a little of all of those from a museum. However, for the sake of writing up some report to Starfleet, we should probably also visit some art galleries and look at the structure of their government or parliamentary system. I guess that Inola will want to see their communications systems, Hal, their law and justice, Tia, their engineering, and the Doc will want to see their medicine and hospitals. We can’t possibly fit in all of that, not unless it was a real whistle-stop tour?”

Inola smiled sheepishly, unable to refute her captain’s words. “Really, language permeates every part of a society, so I’ll get something no matter where we go, sir. Starfleet likes the science and culture reports separate though, so an order of one and then the other might be best!” She had pulled out a PADD, seemingly from nowhere, ready to begin outlining the reports.

“And who said we had to do it all in one day?” Kord said.

“True! We don’t have anywhere else we need to be,” replied the Captain. “Engaging with the Alstaireans is our brief, so any…!!”

The Captains comm device chirped and when answered the voice of William sounded =^=Merrimack to Captain Glen=^=

“Sorry! That’ll be William.” Glen said.

=/\= William? Any further developments on the craft rescue? Is it one of their lost sleeper ships? =/\=

The voice answered clamly =^=Yes, sir. One of the Alstair ships helped stabilize the vessel and we managed to tow it into orbit. The signal we intercepted seems to have been some sort of signal flare set up so you could notice it from a distance, I have not yet determined how it was set up. The locals seem excited to have one of their sleeper ships back=^=

=/\= That’s good news. There is still one more ship out there somewhere, of course, but don’t worry, I won’t send you to look for it. I am sorry, you’ve missed the tours and the meal down here. It’s not exactly a party, but it has all gone very well so far. At least now you’ve put all those command hours under your belt you will qualify to take those senior officers exams. =/\=

-Glen, CO

“If it pleases the Captain, the first thing I would like to see is how their infrastructure is set up. One can usually tell a lot about a society by how they run their regions.”
