Between the First, Glen and Kord they probably could help shift the metal sheeting without too much trouble.

Liz summoned her two officers over towards the metal sheeting to help move the debris aside, with her medical tricorder and medkit at the ready.

“Hopefully this is something we can treat here on the spot. God only knows what the local hospitals look like right now,” said Liz, pushing a strand of reddish-gray hair behind her ear.

Kord slowly released the shield making sure no-one would be hit by any debris that might be sitting on the shield.

“I think we can.” Kord said moving over to glan and grabbing the chunk of debris, “Ready when you are.”

“Okay, on a count of three… three, two, one… lift!” Glen said.

With a final heave the sheet of metal was lifted and moved aside, with a thud it landed nearby. Underneath was an Alstair female in a fetal position who as the metal moved peeked out carefully from her curaled up spot, the depression she had fallen into likely having saved her from getting crushed by the heavy metal. Scans by a medical person would show she had some low level bruises and burns, and a broken right hand but otherwise was fine. They could either treat her or get her standing and move away from the area to get to a hospital on her own.

“Medic!” Kord called not knowing who would answer first.

“Right here,” said Liz through her teeth as she began the work of treating her patient. “Thank God, the damage seems treatable here.” Her expert hands waved a bone knitter over the patient’s hand to repair the fractures, and she sprayed a topical burn treatment over the exposed burns on her skin.

“You’re going to be fine,” soothed Liz as she stroked her patient’s hair lovingly. “Let’s get you up and around. What’s your name?”

With the medical treatment in hand, Glen mused on how it appeared that life on Alstair was a series of unfortunate events. The Merrimack could certainly help them with some kind of basic meteorite detection system. He would get Tia to organise that once she returned from the rescue of the second sleeper ship. Glen wondered what the next highly improbable coincidence might be.

Kord watched the doctor start treatment then turned to Glen.

“I’m curious as to how that got by their planetary observation networks without detection. Even a more primitive Earth was able to track stellar bodies and warn those in potential impact areas.”
