Scans showed the power draw was coming from one of the large shipping crates, nearby. It was 10 feet high by 15ft wide in a rectangular shape. A power cable from a non-natural hole in the box was snaking out and connecting to a nearby power tap into the sleeper ship’s systems. Scans showed the make up of the power draw seemed unstable, and fluctuating in an up and down pattern on the matrix chart for power levels.

[O]Find anything of interest Chief?[O] The voice of William asked through his comm.

NE SPecs moved up to the box looking for a way to open it, he popped open the communicator [O]Specs here, I’ve got a box with a power cable coming from it, looks like it’s drawing power from the ship. Opening now[O]

William answered with a simple ‘Copy’ And waited.

Thankfully or unfortunately for Specs the box proved heavily shut by welding. A latch though on the left side did become found after a bit of squeezing between the first box and another.

Tia had been so engrossed in the box and the cable she hadn’t realized Specs had answered Williams. She was tracing the cable to the power source and frowned there was only a basic interface at the junction. “Hmmm… what are you for, little thing?” She questioned the cable and turned to follow it back to the box. Once there, she tried to slip her scan it and see if she could get an idea of what was in the crate. “Come on… don’t make me bust you open…” she murmured again under her breath and waited to see what her small reader had to say about the mystery box.

Scan results showed only the up and down fluctuating power reading, it was producing a power output comparable to a tiny fist sized fusion cell. Spikes of low level radiation were also picked up, as well as curiously organic material of indeterminable nature. More than this couldn’t be gleaned without opening the box.

Specs looked up “Hey Chief, got a latch here, think I can open it” He called out as he tentatively felt around the area “Wanna open it?” He asked in his characteristic cheerful tone.

NE Specs

OOC: Bumping and just waiting on a choice to move ahead.

Guy had no idea what was in the box but whatever it was he would rather have it opened and get off this heap of scrap, than hang around on this death-trap any more than necessary. “Looks like we’ve got another mystery on our hands. Shall we draw straws to decide who opens the lid/”

  • Guy, Sec

Specs looked at the Security officer and shrugged “Ehh, I’ll volunteer, might be fun” he smiled then began to open the door.
