Scan results showed only the up and down fluctuating power reading, it was producing a power output comparable to a tiny fist sized fusion cell. Spikes of low level radiation were also picked up, as well as curiously organic material of indeterminable nature. More than this couldn’t be gleaned without opening the box.

Specs looked up “Hey Chief, got a latch here, think I can open it” He called out as he tentatively felt around the area “Wanna open it?” He asked in his characteristic cheerful tone.

Guy had no idea what was in the box but whatever it was he would rather have it opened and get off this heap of scrap, than hang around on this death-trap any more than necessary. “Looks like we’ve got another mystery on our hands. Shall we draw straws to decide who opens the lid/”

Specs looked at the Security officer and shrugged “Ehh, I’ll volunteer, might be fun” he smiled then began to open the door.

NE Specs - ENG

“We’re all dead men anyway,” Guy said, “Just glorified extras!”

-Guy, Security

Specs laughed at Guy’s comment as the latch opened.

As the latch easily came off and the metal doors swung open there was a sort of soft rumbling sound from within and suddenly a veritable trove of rolling spheres spilled out over the whole area making standing a precarious process! Thankfully the avalanche of spheres were not hard, but actually quite soft and fluffy but still firm enough to make them an easy slip/trip hazard. They were the size of golf balls, silver-blue in color.

But once everyone would find some manner of footing they would be able to peer inside the box and find it contained one last mystery, that of a small cryo pod! Different from those used by the Alstair but functioning in a similar fashion. Inside the icy hold of the pod was a small figure, a young child or large baby perhaps dressed in simple silver robes. Attached to the pod’s lid was some kind of plastic soft paper with a flowing alien script.

After spending a comically long time getting himself secure footing, using the handle to keep him from falling, NE Specs looked into the box and saw the pod, stepping forward and looking inside “Uhm, there’s a child in here” He called out “Who would bring a child on a trip like this and why keep them here?” He mused as he grabbed the communicator [O]Specs to Merrimack, uhm, We’ve got another cryopod here, there’s what looks like a child[O]

NE Specs

Glen replied from the Captain’s Chair, =/\= Are they awake? Or still under cryogenesis? Do we know how to bring them around without damage from thawing? Glen over! =/\=

-Glen, CO

=^=Still fast asleep sir=^= He leaned forward and with his scanner checked the vital signs of the child =^= Checking vitals now=^=

NE Specs

Tia growled as the box opened and all the debris fell out. After seeing the childlike being, she frowned a bit deeper. =^=Bridge… I don’t see any damage to the pod. But I will need a bit if you want me to figure out how to wake them. Gonna want medical on both sides standing by as well. Hang on=^= she paused a moment looking around. =^= I’m gonna see if I can get some answers here, first…=^= She turned to the others and stepped out of the circle of balls and looked for their alien escort in hopes of getting answers who this child was and why it was hidden from everyone in such an unusual place.
