Main Sim - Sickbay - Investigating The Child

Tia had come back to the ship and managed a shower and quick bite before heading down to medical. She stood there, now, beside the cryotube the child was in. A large crate beside her held the balls in a nestled material to keep them from touching. Her idea had been to keep the orbs in close proximity to the child till they better understood their purpose. If they were merely toys meant to placate the child upon awaking, then that was one thing. If they had to do with life support, nutritional necessities, or some other life purpose, having them close was necessary.

She had helped the medical team hook the bed up to the Merrimack systems so they could continue to monitor the child’s health. But she was still no closer to figuring out how to release the child without harming it.

Settling on the floor next to one of the larger panels of the tube, Tia began to slowly remove the fasteners. She knew better than to touch wires and cords, but seeing how they were wired may lend them a clue on how to help. As she worked, she was unaware a soft lullaby was being hummed thru her half pursed lips.

The CMO had given orders for the pod to be put near the stasis unit just in guess something happens and the child would need to be taken out.A doctor was checking the male child vital signs every fifteen minutes ‘’Chief the science dept has managed to open one of the sphere and from what I heard a shaped like egg was found inside ‘’ he told Tiastri while watching her remove the fasteners.

OOC: Further investigations for now on the balls is found here! https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf6/merrimack/posts/162003/ just an fyi. But since you’re checking out the child i’ve retitled the thread for that here.

Tinkering with the sleeper pod, Tia found the wiring and circuitry was quite primitive. Barely out of what would be considered in use by Earths mid-20th century around the 1970s. Even that estimate in places seemed generous to some degree. Evidence was in place that lead Tia to theorize that whoever, had made this had been using parts that had been old and worn out by several decades, even when the sleeper pod had been assembled. Doing some dating scans on the different parts she soon would cobble together a picture that most of the parts were made between 50-75 years ago, and likely in turn had been in use quite hard in some form for another 10-25 years before the sleeper pod had been put onto the Alstair sleeper ship, said sleeper ship had been in transit at least 12 years or so before returning to Alstair Prime, so this put the parts on this sleeper pod well over 100 years or more in age! Given their primitive and quite worn construction and state it was a miracle the child hadnt died in cryo sleep!

Another thing Tia’s scans and look over would reveal was a bit of dust inside the casings interior, complete with organic particles and even organic dirt! There was enough of both in fact that with proper scanning and detailed study they might get more clues on the planet and/or people that had sent this pod out.
