The Captain agreed, “The preservation of life should always come first, but if it does no harm to wake it then I see no reason for further delay.”

The CMO gave a nod to Tia, she had to be the one removing the power grid. Cross being a doctor had little to no knowledge of such things . Before opening the pod, two >red shirts stood by in case there was a need to lift the child up.

Cross may very possible hold her breath once the CE would start opening the pod.

Glen really wanted to get back to the Bridge. They had reported that the Merrimack had left Deep Space K-5 and was now underway, but this was much more interesting. >The new XO could have time to get to know the Bridge without him. He kept out of the way in Sickbay, well behind the redshirts, so that the scientists could do their jobs. >While he waited, he also got an update on progress made examining the silver balls in the science department.

The moment that Cross dreaded was happening, she glanced at the CE ‘’Well Tia lets open it up and keep our fingers crossed’‘. By this time Hunter had made it to sickbay >and was ready to assist if the need arose.

Cross bit on her lower lip ,she was worried that some thing might happen and by opening the pod would do more harm then good ‘’Tia don’t say that, we are working as a >team ,not to mention we’re following the Captain’s orders ‘’ and with those last words she started to open the pod.

Glen nodded. “You have my full authority, if that helps, and the child will be protected under the Federation Charter that we all follow, which as you will be aware, protects the fundamental rights of any sentient beings.”

The lid of the pod would be carefully unlatched and loosened without spilling the lubricating fluids contained inside. The equipment displays would be monitored continuously for any change in vital signs or other readings.

As the team’s got to work, the thawing process ended up taking some time. Given the age of the technology and the primitive nature it used, what would normally only take an hour at best for commonly known techniques of cryo sleep. In this case wound up taking almost 4 days of long on and off hours of work shifts in rotation. Eventually though the child was safely taken out of the pod, and was now resting in what seemed a natural sleep state on a nearby biobed. All signs on scans showed they were healthy as best as could be seen. Their silver-slightly green tinted skin was a bit darker now having warmed up and gotten blood flowing through it. More in-depth scans also able to be taken safely showed the child and presumably its race had similarities to a human’s blood system make up. Muscular structure was also on part with a humans, as was the bone shape, however density was a bit lighter than a humans indicating the race either grew up on a lighter gravity than Earth or something similar. Overall assuming this child’s race lived as long as a human did on average the child was between 7-9 years of age.

Cross was scanning ‘’He is asleep so lets try to wake him up..shall we’‘, By we she meant Hunter and Tia,the CMO only saw the child as a patient, Cross for some reason lacked any maternal instincts ‘’Apparently the boy is two to three years older then we originally thought ‘’. A nurse had already dressed him in a gown ‘’So how are we to communicate ?’‘ the female doctor asked ‘’Anyone know?’‘ she looked at both Tia and Hunter.
