Now that he was more active, more scan results could come in, they showed that judging by his brain activity and not to mention speech, he probably had the capability of being quite intelligent and on some level had already some form of education before being put into the pod.

The nurse looked at Tia hoping she’ll take this on, as for Hunter he was rubbing at his chin ‘’ I’m not sure we are the ones but do not worry we are trying to find your true family ‘’ the doctor hoped that was the case .Now he pointed at one of the spheres ‘’Do you know what those are for’‘ he asked in anticipation since the science dept had no clue .

The boy looked at the spheres, “..Those are samples of several local plants and animals from my former home. They are provided for my new family to study and synthesize food for me artificially if their local biomes are not capable of supporting me normally..” he said. “..They can also I think be used as a means of emergency power source, though I am not sure how off hand..” he added

Cross was behind the child scanning with her tricorder ,she scribbled something on a Padd and gave it to Hunter ‘The lad has more brain cells then you do’ the doctor wrote .Hunter just gave Cross the Padd back ignoring her.

Scans of the child showed he was in good health, he seemed quite intelligent and physically stable.

She then contacted Glen = /\= Cross from sickbay ,an update from the child who is now fully awake drinking and asking for food =/\= Cross took a deep breath before continuing =/\= When asked for his name ,he was told that his new family would give him one and is thinking it is us, though we explained that we’re still looking for his family .The child seem to be intelligent…Captain any orders from your side? =/\= The CMO asked.

=/\= Captain I thought I have just heard you say you are busy,anyway is the cuckoo who lay its egg in another species bird’s nest and the poor bird has to feed it until it flies away from the nest…wait eh ..oh no =/\= came the surprised voice over the comm....which rendered her speechless.

Cross looked at her transmitter as if seeing it for the first time ‘’The captain sure sound like he’s in a bad mood I wonder why ‘’ she said to anyone who cared to listen ‘’After all he mentioned the cuckoo not me’‘ and with a sigh closed her transmitter.

The boy having overheard Cross turned to look at her quizzically. “..What do you mean?” he asked.

This took Cross by surprise,since she was had been behind the child and out of his vision ,second the female doctor was not sure of his question but knew she had to play this without giving too much information.
Taking a few steps she was now face to face with him,there and then she decided her best bet was to go with the cuckoo ‘’Em…Hi I’m Miriam a Cuckoo is a bird’‘ Cross then gave her usual angelic smile ‘’It’s a bird and lay their eggs in other nests which belong to other birdies ‘’ she searched for any signs that would show the inquisitive child was satisfied with her answer.

At this point Hunter got up and moved away from both Cross and the boy to contact the Cmdr.

Tia had remained by the biobed, but silent, as the child woke and was bombarded from all sides. Suddenly shaking her head, she waved her hands. “All right, everyone out but the Doc. And let’s get him something simple to eat to begin. Maybe some vegetable broth, till we know if he eats meats, and some juice with electrolytes, all right?” She waited till the others started to leave and moved to sit on the side of the bed. “I’m sorry about that. No, we aren’t your new family. And this isn’t a biodome.” She waved to the room as if indicating beyond it. Smiling back at the child again, she nodded in reassurance. “But we are friends. And we are trying to find where you were supposed to be going. We will save those spheres for you and keep them safe for your family. But I am sorry there aren’t very many.” She sighed realizing the great treasure they had left behind. It made her ache once more that she hadn’t considered bringing more back with the pod.

“My name is Tia. Is there something you would like to be called till you are named properly? We do not wish to steal that precious moment from you or your family. But I would like to call you something more than boy.” She laughed and winked trying to ease the child’s mind that while things weren’t as he expected, they also weren’t bad.
