Cross took a deep breath, she stood in front of the door for a couple of minutes before managing to knock slightly , hopefully Mr Wong will finish the interview and bring it to an end.

Stanly had just returned from the biolab and was looking at the results of a small test he had tried with several drugs. Hearing the door caught him by surprise for he hadn’t remembered closing it. He looked at the door blankly for a moment before he said in a soft welcoming voice. “Yes, enter please? “

Stanley thought quickly before the door opened. The way his luck had been going it was probably at least one of the two people he did not want to see at present. Joe Milligan or Hunter.

Dr. Stanley Wong

Cross stepped in,from her look its as if she was about to climb the stairs to be hanged. The female doctor tried to put on a smile but even that was hard to do, so instead she gave the psychiatrist a nod ‘’Good evening Mr Wong’‘ she whispered softly.

Cross CMO.

Stanley rose slowly from his seat and nodded his head in Cross’s direction as he said in a barely audible voice. “Well Doctor it is certainly good to see you again. Would you like to have a seat, or would you rather stand? I’m afraid those are the only choices I can offer. They didn’t think to have the obligatory couch for something that only may be a permanent program.” Stanley went over to shut the door to what he hoped was only a temporary office and as he passed Cross he said, “Whichever you are comfortable with is alright to me.

Cross now breathed with difficulty, typically in response to a strong emotion nodded and sat down,Stanly would then hear take a deep breath .The doctor was trying every thing possible to calm herself.

Once more Stanley brought a sheaf of papers up and laid them on his desk. Scanning them quickly he looked in Cross’s direction and smiled as he said. “I didn’t get to ask you this the last time you were here. Would you prefer to start out our chat by doing a simple non-verbal test? Something in which we don’t have to speak. Afterwards of course we may have to speak for a bit. ” Stanley stopped for a bit then and looked at Cross with his head cocked to one side as if he were a curious puppy as he asked. “Unless of course there is something that is making you want to come back in and talk to me. Something specific?”

Dr. Stanley Wong.

‘’Whatever you wish Mr Wong is fine by me but I would rather get all you need to know now…I have a dept to run’‘ Cross gave a quick look around her and felt that the walls were closing in on her,she shuddered but was quick to compose herself .

Cross CMO.

Stanley was quite amazed. In one small sentence she had minimized him and his work and attempted to express dominance over him. Her anger and fear were literally a palpable thing in the air between them. He pondered for a moment what to do. He had thought that a verbal exchange might be best with her today but now he changed his mind.

He reached then toward the corner of his desk where a pitcher of water and several glass beakers sat. One by one he sat them out in a line in front of Cross. With a smile and a soft voice, he said simply. “This will be easy enough. You need not get into a messy conversation and if you do this properly you can get back to work soon. ” He smiled then as he said, “Although I rather think that Doctor Hunter is more than able to do that for a while “

Without giving Cross time to respond Stanley started to give her instructions. “I am simply going to put labels on each of these beakers. After reading the label on each beaker you will simply pour the amount of water from the pitcher into the labeled beaker that you think more accurately describes you in your present state of mental health.

Stanley then began to label the beakers. ‘joy’ anger, fear, guilt, love, contentment, love of self.’ After labeling the beakers Stanley smiled warmly as Cross and said once more. If for instance you are happy with yourself a lot. Proud of the things you have accomplished you might want to put quite a lot of water into that beaker.” he paused for an instant and then continued saying. “There is a catch here though that I must warn you of. If you are indeed being honest with yourself and me, I will know. All you have to do is to pour the right amount of water into the glasses. ” Stanley rose from his uncomfortable squeaky seat then and told Cross , “Take your time there is no time limit. When you are finished you may find me in sickbay. I will be helping Mr. Hunter so that you will be covered as far as personnel goes there. Good luck doctor!” he said in a friendly voice as he left.

Dr. Stanley Wong

As she heard the door close behind her,Cross slowly closed her eyes thinking about how she was suppose to answer .Knowing it would get her nowhere by just sitting there with her eyes closed she eventually took the beaker, now looking at the labels ‘JOY ‘ Stanley had wrote * What joy?* the doctor asked herself but for the sake of getting on with this strange psychiatric test she poured a little amount of water.

‘Anger’ was next I might have been angry in the past, might be angry in the future but not now she thought and poured the same amount as the first glass.
‘FEAR’ this time Cross frowned, fear of what ? She tried to think if she poured the same amount as the other two, that darn Wong would probably be angry …so she poured more water then the previous glasses.

‘Guilt’ this time there was silent sadness on her face ,though she did not feel any guilt at the present moment looking back then yes Cross felt guilty. This time she poured a considerable amount of water .At that moment anger took over and she lost it,throwing the glasses against the wall and left only ‘GUILT’ and ‘Anger’ filled to the brim.

Cross just wanted to get out of that room but knew Stanly was in sickbay and would most probably see her and he was the last person Cross wanted to see.
She took out her transmitter, contacting the transporter room =/\= Officer ,the Chief medical officer, sight to sight transportation from room two in sickbay to my quarters =/\= Yes Ma’am+/\=. came the response.

Cross CMO.

Stanley had been outside in sickbay watching one of the nurses as she played a card game on one of the medical computers. He assumed that everyone was well then. As for Hunter he saw that he was in an office and seemed be trying to sleep while he was tapping out a report. His hands while on the keyboard had none of the fingers moving. And as Stanley walked into the room, he saw that Hunter’s eyes were closed. He had tip toed out of Hunter’s door when he heard glass shatter in his small office.

Once inside his office he looked around at the damage and shook his head sighing. Then chuckling to himself he opened up his communicator he murmured to himself. This is one of those circumstances where this military stuff may come in handy. “Transporter office. This is Major doctor Stanley Wong currently assigned to this ship by fleet. I need to know the last sight to sight transport from this location. ” Once the poor transporter officer recovered, he told Wong exactly who it was and where they had gone.

Although the answer didn’t surprise him Stanley left the small office with a trail of several colorful curses in Mandarin trailing behind him like flames coming from a fire. As he walked anyone who had seen or met him before would probably not recognize him. He walked a brisk determined walk and stood up to his full height. His arms worked back and forth, and his eyes burned with a purpose. Once at Lieutenant Cross’s quarters he leaned on the buzzer for the door with every intent of having engineering cut through the thing if required.
