After leaving the Captain’s office, Verity went straight to her quarters. As she entered the room, she quickly and sat on the neatly made twin bed then thought about the conversation she had overheard, What the hell is happening on this ship? Wong is running around here physically attacking Dr. Cross! Was anyone safe on the ship? The thought of how the encounter unfolded terrified Verity and she wasn’t one to easily frighten. She jumped up and made sure the door to her quarters was secure.
In all her years serving in Starfleet she had never heard of an officer or an associate of Starfleet behaving in such a manner. Verity didn’t want to repudiate Dr. Wong if this accusation was not true. After all he seemed nice and all about business when she briefly met him in the Captain’s office. He certainly didn’t look like he had something to hide. Why would Dr. Wong do something like that? Then again he was a psychiatrist after all and probably well apt to putting on a pretty convincing facade. But…why hadn’t Dr. Cross report the incident immediately? Did whatever he inject her with impair her? There were so many questions.
