OOC: Just to let you know, you are all doing an excellent job here, and I apologise for you sometimes having to wait for replies. There are no bad ideas here. There is only what the GM allows and what he doesn’t. I think this has the best chance of working. I think the “fight between champions” would have only worked if there wasn’t a mob heading up the hill.

=/\= Glen to Merrimack. Transporter Room, please get a transporter lock on our party and hold it ready for an emergency beam out. =/\=

Joe after giving the CO’s orders to the crew in the transporter room toggled up the switch for the comms and answered the captain. =/\= Captain this is Milligan. We have locks on all our personal and ready to transport at your command.” =/\=

=/\= Standby =/\= Glen replied. Then Glen thought of Plan C, a somewhat frivolous suggestion made by Joe earlier in the day. =/\= I’m ready to try anything now, Commander. =/\=

Pashi watched the captain carefully. She was not sure what he intended, and even though she disagreed with the current assessment of her not being the one to greet the natives, after all the child had seen her and the humans, thus making it perfectly clear there was a distinct division in the Federdemons. The child had at least communicated with her, and also had not tried to harm her, spittle being the most offensive she got.

By now Hunter took a couple of steps back,he had decided to just go with the flow .........

Max also followed the steps taken by Dr Hunter to stay out of the way. He wanted the captain and the security team to do their thing. He was just here to help with any engineering things. He did not want to get in the way or be in the cross fire, if it happened. He kept his eyes and ears open for everything while watching what the captain was doing and how the captain communicated with the beings on this planet. He waited to see what occurred.

Lance looked at the captain “sir how about we offer them some supplies like food, medical, engineering, help to maybe make some better shelter. I did see a lake that looks contaminated and yet they’re pulling water from it”

Verity looked at the COS. She was surprised at how good of an idea and how logical it was given his previous suggestion. She spoke to back up the suggestion, “That…actually is a very good suggestion. If we offer them fresh water, medical care, and supplies, that could help us gain thie lr trust and they will see we are not like the Klingons. I doubt the Klingons ever went to such lengths to ensure their well being.” She looked at Hunter then said, “Don’t worry. I am sure you can still do your universal peace sign.”

Hunter simply smiled ‘’It does not matter Lt whatever is decided I surely won’t object ‘’ he rubbed at his chin while looking at the people who were not that for off ‘’Perhaps offering something to them might help them see us from another perspective who knows ,we can only try ‘’ the doctor replied.

Captain Glen could only smile at their suggestions. “I’m afraid the XO has beat you to it!” Glen exclaimed. “He already had the same idea earlier and I just told him to implement Plan C. If we wait a few more minutes we shall see if it works or not!”

Max was unaware of what plan C was but based on the face the XO had come up with it, it could be very interesting, based on what little he knew about the XO. He was still very unsure of what was going to become of this with all the issues with the bacteria when it arrived on the ship. He was just going to continue to stand in the background to stay out of the way.

They would notice that Glen was looking skywards, possibly for the arrival of a shuttlecraft.

Seeing the Captain looking up Hunter wondered what was going on ‘’I hope he’s not expecting anything sinister ‘’ he told Lt Mullins ‘’Had no idea about this plan C , did you?’‘ the doctor asked the CE.

“Nothing sinister,” Glen replied. “Unorthodox… certainly unusual… anyway, you’ll see!”

In what seemed like only a few moments Joe was nearing the village from behind the crew of the Merrimack. He slowed down considerably and then flew over the natives in a slow stately manner letting them get a good look at him. After he had passed over both groups, he started to turn the shuttle slowly so that when they landed the door to the shuttle would open up facing the natives.

As he landed Joe exhaled slowly. It had been a while since he had piloted a shuttle, so he was for the moment just relieved to be here in one piece… the door to the shuttle started to open. As it began Joe flipped another switch that activated the exhaust fans. Joe leaned forward and saw out the door the collection of natives standing on the side of the hill.

The landing party would have a much less clear view of the total picture than Joe did from the shuttlecraft, but the smell propelled by the exhaust fans would reach them almost as soon as it reached the natives.

  • Glen, CO

Pashi, heard the shuttle craft way before it was even visible, and there was an odd whooshing whine coming from it. “Sir is the shuttle craft okay? No malfunctions? It has an unusual mechanical noise coming from it.”
