Pashi spoke to the group of natives in Klingon, her voice was calm and lyrical “As my friend has pointed out we come as friends. We wish to share food with you. If you doubt us, ask the young child who we returned. She did more harm to us, and we did not harm her.” Pashi knew that many species cultures began their negotiations with the exchange of food. She could only pray that these natives had not been totally corrupted by the Klingons and see the truth behind the gesture and what was said. She also knew that the Klingons would focus mostly on the Humans of the Federation than its other species members, thus she hoped her appearance would confuse what they had been told about the Agents of the Feddoomers.

When Pashi spoke this drew the attentions of everyone, even the more hostile like Spasa seemed taken aback, it seems Pashi’s thoughts that the Klingons made the Federation out to be ‘devil’s in the local religion were indeed mainly focused on the humans, and not so much other non-humans. =/\= A Feddoomer devil who is.....not a devil? =/\= seemed to be heard muttered in one form or another among the 20 armed natives.

The smaller man who spoke before near Spasa stepped carefully forward out of full cover, and then shouted up the hill to the landing party. =/\= You do not seem like the rest of the Feddoomer devils. Our religious texts and the agents of Va’s Strength (it seems the UT finally locked on to what the major deities name was!), never said much on the servants of the Fed Devils. Are you then one such servant? =/\= he asked.

Lt Mullins contained to look around and watch what was going on. He felt as if he was a little useless on this mission but there might always be a need for a engineering officer. There was not much at this time for him to handle but he was still just keeping an eye out for anything. He was always nervous about being in a potential threatening situation. He had his hand on his phaser just in case.

Verity didn’t say much during the exchange. She had no doubt that Pashi would be able to effectively communicate with the natives. As the science officer attempted to communicate, Verity waited for an opportunity to collect her samples. Then she would return to the Merrimack to study them.

Glen told Pashi, “They appear to be much warmer to you than me because you don’t look like their idea of a ‘Fedoomer’. I’m happy, and would like, for you to continue these negotiations with them, as you seem to be getting through better than I ever could. I only wish now that I’d brought down Cara Meow, and Trexi, the Edosian from Engineering on the Landing Party rather than this very humanoid-looking bunch.”

Verity looked at Hunter and smirked, “And you thought they were going to have an adverse reaction to her because she did look different.” In her mind she thought, Doctors, always think they know everything.

‘’To be honest I did ‘’ Hunter replied ‘’Em ..you see if they think we are devils and with her two antennas I must admit I was worried’‘ he tailed off while shrugging his shoulders ‘’Guess their image of a devil is not quite like our old paintings back on Earth ‘’ he did give Verity a slight and measly smile .

Glen told Lance, “I want you and your men to stay back and keep quiet. This is on a knife-edge and could go either way. Pashi seems to have their ear and is making a difference. Let’s not do anything rash that might ruin that. The Merrimack still has a Transporter Lock on us. All I need to do is to give the word!”

“Understood Sir.” replied Pashi. “No, I am not a Feddoomer devil. None of us are Feddoomer’s. We are creatures of flesh and blood, just like you. We want to help you. As a show of our sincerity we would like to share some food and drink with you. I assure you, on my life, that we mean you no harm. Should you come to harm because of my fellow companions, I will stand in their place and allow you to judge me, even if I must die.” With that Pashi took a step forward.

The smaller man seemed to listen to Pashi’s words, but the larger female native named Spasa muttered something but it wasn’t heard what she said, shaking his head the man continued, =/\= You speak words of sweetness for help but our religious texts even before Va’s agents from the stars which coopted our lives to aide them in Va’s name spoke such too early on. The devil’s of Va and His agents from the Heavens which spoke of the Feddoomers and their servants would use such honeyed words that you say. Whether we come to harm or not matters little to us, and if we did your death in revenge would not serve anything either. =/\= He said.

Max thought for a second after the response from Pashi. He believe he remembered a way to show the creatures the humans were not gods. He asked himself, ‘Would blood prove this to the creatures?’. He then said to Pashi, “Would showing them we have blood not prove that we aren’t Feddoomers? You are more than welcome to use my blood if needed. Cutting me with a knife, might be a good start.” He then waited to see what Pashi thought of the idea.

Verity looked at Max but didn’t say anything.

Pashi thought a second and replied “At this time I would say, no. Remember they may have a different blood type than you, and I am pretty sure their blood looks nothing like mine.”

Joe’s tolerance for diplomacy with a people whose little children seemed to have more honor and fighting ability than the grownups was quickly coming to an end. He was starting to grind his teeth and look at the larger of rocks on the ground to hurl at the next native that irritated him when an idea occurred to him. He contacted Pashi then and told her =/\= Lieutenant, tell them we have an engineer who would like to see their mines and perhaps make them safer. =/\= Joe had never yet seen a miner who didn’t like to talk about their mine or complain about its safety.

The small man took a few more careful steps up the hill to get a better look it seems of the away team at the top. Now about 15 or so feet away, with the rest of the natives still holding position about 30-40 feet among the junk laying about he spoke again, =/\= Va’s agents from the Heavens taught us much about strength of arms and working the land and resources on our planet. If you are not servants of the Feddoomers,” He said indicating the human members nearby like Glen and such, “..then what are you in standing to them?” he asked.

Glen found it difficult to hold his tongue. He wanted to reply, but he knew that the answers would sound better coming from Pashi. He just hoped that the others would remember what he had just instructed and would hold their tongues too.

  • Glen, CO

Hunter simply looked on ,as of now only words were being exchanged .
