Kord held the ship as he watched the view screen. He powered down the inertial dampers, that helped stabilize the ship to a flight type that many of the young races were accustomed to, and bolstered the inertial compensators that kept the personnel inside form becoming interior coatings whenever the ship changed speed or direction. The only person that might notice the small changes in attitude and position would be the helmsman.

Hal entered the bridge. He went to take over the tactical station. Klingons, Romulans, and Orions, he thought to himself. What is this, a convention?

“Welcome back, Hal,” Glen said, and then added, “And not a moment too late!”

On screen the Romulan T-5D destroyers appeared behind Th’anos’s Wanderer and laid out a hail of plasma beam weapons fire. Scans showed the ship rocking under the barrage their shields estimated to be knocked down to 70%. Coming about said Wanderer though unleashed a return surprise probably even to the Romulans! A large red bolt of energy shot out from under Th’anos’s ship, a plasma bolt like that used by the Romulan Bird of Prey that had destroyed Starfleet outposts along the neutral zone in early 2266! The red bolt exploded between both Romulan destroyers rocking them hard off control to port and starboard. Their shields held if barely but the two ships were in rough shape. Their shields were probably down to 30 some percent with likely heavy damage. Following up on this another Wanderer came about breaking off from attacking Andone’s Flying Raptor warbird and moved with intent to likely destroy these two ships. But it seems Andone was not about to let that happen without a fight, her ship quickly accelerated and opened up with a full salvo of plasma and plasma based torpedo fire tearing into this Wanderer from behind which sent it out of control towards one of the nearby small gas giant moons in the system. Swooping in as her namesake the Avenger opened fire finishing off the wounded Wanderer in a burst of three torpedoes.

Meanwhile the Klingons were giving back as good as they got, the D-5 frigates though taking a pounding in straight up nose to nose weapons fire exchanges had their shields well down to 40%, but the harrassing Wanderers there were in equal straights with shields there down to 40% too. Overall the fight could be going better though but it could be going much worse too for the Starfleet ships.

William monitored both the battle and conversation with equal interest. Suddenly he wished he had been with Tinga and the others, to be able to see the stone itself or those creators. Those were only his private desires, he knew he was more useful on the Bridge of the ship giving his insight and knowledge directly to the Captain.

If only William could read John’s mind. John Glen would much rather he had been with Tinga and the others, to be able to see the stone itself or those creators, but the new regulations were clear that a captain’s place was on the Bridge. Landing parties, or the away teams that they had begun calling them, were too dangerous and prevented a captain from decision making.

“How is the USS Avenger faring up?” Glen asked Hal. Glen couldn’t make out the other Starfleet ship amongst the confused scuffle on the viewscreen.

Glen, CO

Scans of the Avenger showed their shields were holding around 58%, there was minor-moderate damage on the aft hull sections but otherwise they were still hanging well within the fight.

Hal reported on the status of the Avenger. “Funny,” he commented. “From what little I know of the Tokyo and, I thought that they had given up on those plasma torpdoes once we figured out that we can just outrun them.”

Suddenly there was an urgent comm call to the bridge from deck 2 below them. =/\= NE Chang to the bridge! Oh god there’s blood everywhere! Ginger the cat has gotten out of holding in the VIP quarters, he’s ....he tried to eat my partner NE Baxton, he needs medical attention, I called sickbay but they’re not here yet and we need security to track that....that cat or tiger or whatever down when it entered a turbolift! I’m not sure where its going! Oh god I cant stop this bleeding on Baxton…=/\= he said with an edge of panic in his voice

GM CockRoach

“Cut turbolift access to the bridge. Limit it to confirmed authorized bio signs.” Kord called out.
