Main Sim - Cargo Bay - Let construction begin!

“ok?” Jasper said with a bit of a surprise. “As you wish chief!! I won’t say a word but I have no issues with helping.” As he placed the tool kit in the locker labeled J. “Game? I am Game? Sure this is intriguing to me now I love a good mystery. ” Jasper said with a kind smile.

It was at this point the half-human/ancient hybrid they had brought aboard earlier known as Daniel returned to the engine room. “..Apologies for my delay. Your medical chief wished to scan me due to complications of temporal anomalies being faced as I outlined earlier on your Captain.” He said. “..This fact alone should emphasize our need to begin assembly and get to work.” He said turning to Tia. “..Have you briefed your staff properly on what I outlined?” he asked.

Jasper turned fast and faced Mr. Daniels almost hurting himself in the process. “What do you mean problems?? What’s wrong with the captain??” As he now looked from Daniels and to the chief again. “Well! Sirs!!”

Tia shook her head and rested her hand on Jasper’s arm. “He’s fine, Jas… no worries. Just fatigue.” She didn’t want to worry the poor guy.

Turning to Daniel, she shook her head. “I was just about to. I wasn’t ready to let the whole of engineering in on it. It seems to get too be too much for them sometimes. I want Ensign Ericson to lead the second team. I will lead the first.” She nodded and turned to Jasper once more.

“We are going to need to empty the largest available cargo bay to build a contraption for Daniel here. Sorry, forgot introductions… Jasper, Daniel… Daniel, Jasper,” she wasn’t about to get more into anomalies and other temporal issues right now.

She went on to tell Jasper all that was needed, and added it to the list she was typing into a limited access file on the console before them. Once in a while she turned to Daniel to be sure she had remembered it all correctly.

-25 pieces of deterium plating 10x15 long with the purpose as being used as a containment shell
-an inditerminate amount of high power data and cabling lines
-15 gravimetric and 20 spatial sensor pallets., each one will need to be configured for an individual purpose to be given later
-a sizable amount of hydrogen and helium particles 50kgs in six individual standard storage canisters which will need to be carefully purified of outside spacial matter by the bussard collectors

“And finally,” she completed while trying to maintain a straight face though her voice hitched with a giggle she didn’t want bubbling up. “We have to produce a warp field equal to the ship traveling to warp 8 in strength coupled with emissions of antineutrino patricles. ” A small burst of laughter escaped, sounding almost like hysteria. “And the power draw should be as close as we can get it to our own warp signature so as not to be interfered with.” She closed her eyes leaning on the console and shook her head. How were they ‘ever’ going to get all this done… and in the swift timeline needed? She bit back another giggle as she took a deep breath.

Even though this intrigued Jasper he fell danger about this but not sure why. As he shook it off and started to gather the tools and equipment and started getting them to the cargo bay. without another word apparently he was not going to get the answer just more questions. “Are you sure that’s everything?” Jasper asked as he waited for a reply.

Tia nodded as she and Daniel made sure the list was complete and Jas gathered his tools. “I think the easiest parts will be the plating and cable. The rest is going to take some time… and some serious figuring. I’m not sure how quick we can make the containers. And I need to know what each pallet will be used for ‘beforehand’ so I know they are capable before we put this contraption together.” She didn’t like unknowns. And this whole project was a continuous, huge, ridiculous unknown.

And that made Tia’s hair stick up more than a kiss from the XO. And not in a good way....

George could see that Jasper was still waiting on answers to his questions. He hated being kept in the dark too, but that was the life of an engineering redshirt. Not quite as dangerous as a security redshirt, but just as overlooked by the Command staff. George stopped his work for a moment at the tall console with the flashing diodes. His work, fiddling with the knobs to increase the EPS power transfers, to restore the Nadion Inversion, and to attempt some Intrusive energy redirection, could wait for a moment.

“Pssst!… Hey you!… Jasper!” George called over. “That there stuff about the Captayn… That there’s all classified too… Just like this here projeck she has put y’all on. If ya done had been around here at bit longuurr like me then ya would know. It’s ta do with tahm travel stuff ayn’ other alien baloney… a-goin’ into thay … err future ayn’ bak in tahm as done made thay … err Captayn sick.”

Jasper listened to his fellow engineers carefully. “your right as he dropped his questions as he had all his tools ready now. “Well, I am ready as I can be. sir!” then as he looked at the chief and the others.

Tia had just finished showing the guest how to access the files she was creating when she heard the exchange. “The Captain is fine. Yes, it had to do with temporal shifts. But since anything else you heard,” she directed it at Phones, “is rumor… I suggest you keep from passing it on and get to work. How about the two of you get started on the metal sheets we need. Then the pallet bases.” She knew it wasn’t as exciting as other pieces. But if they were gonna gossip, she didn’t want it to be around the rest of the crew. Being in the Cargo Bay would be a sufficient place for them to flap their lips without harming anyone else. At least, that was her hope.

Phones thought she had remarkable hearing. He knew the time travelling was more than rumour as he’d seen it happen, but he also knew when to shut up. He finished up what he was doing so that he could help Jasper with his chores down in the Cargo Bay.

She turned back to Daniel. “Ok… so what order do you need this stuff done in? Or does it matter? Just don’t want you barking at me in two days that you wanted such and such done first and I should have known that.” She tried to keep her voice light, but it also held an edge of seriousness to it. The last thing she needed was ‘why didn’t you just ask?’ as the question near the end.

OOC: (GO ahead and start a Bay thread you guys. It will be where the assembly happens. So you can post between here and there depending where you are located. No point in a million threads for two rooms.))

George joined the other engineers making their way to the Cargo Bay to begin construction to build the ‘contraption.’ It looked like Jasper would lead the project as he had all the details and was on first name terms with the alien designer.
