Archanon raised an eyebrow at the Lt. Governor’s questions, sensing his unease about the whole situation. He sighed, shaking his head. It was not easy communicating to these beings in this way. He was limited vocally. He would give anything to simply share the memories of the events that had taken place.

“Leamas is most certainly dangerous. The Vren have bordered our nebula for centuries, but it was always too hostile for them to consider entering. However, eventually, they discovered ways to circumvent some of the dangerous gases and phenomenons occuring there. They began to explore it and discovered my people scattered throughout. My people have the unique abilitiy to use what you call Radiogenic Radiation for whatever means we desire to use it for. We consume it, much like you would consume food. Our lives depend on its supply.

“The Vren wanted to harness the particles and use it for themselves. Having seen us and what we could do, they sought to enslave us. The king would not have it. We built defenses for the Kalidon Nebula. Weapons and communications platforms were the first things to be built. Shield arrays were next, you get the idea. We were attempting to keep our nebula safe and secure.

“Leamas had other ideas. He pleaded with the king to allow him to assemble groups of us to go out and fight the Vren. He was motivated to deter them from ever attempting to come back. The king chose to not take that route. Should the Vren ever decide to make peace, to act in accordance with respect for other lives, than he wanted the door to be possible for them. But until then, the borders would be well defended.

“Leamas was not fond of that idea. To be fair, he often had been at odds with the King’s decisions, often favoring taking the fight to other people. He decided that this time, he would not budge on his thoughts. He managed to convincea third of our people to rebel against the king. They found a Vren ship, likely the closest to our lands and destroyed it. The message was conveyed to the Vren before we even had a chance to to stop it from happening. Those same Kalidonians came back thinking to be honored as heroes. They weren’t. They conveyed a message that would provoke our enemies and inspire fear. The king was not one who sought to make people fearful of him.

“The Guardians agreed with the King that banishment from the Kalidon Nebula was the proper course of action. He still had a chance to come back, to change his ways. But he would do it in the confines of a prison, unable to harm anyone. When we received word that the containment had been broken, I resigned myself to make the journey here somehow and fix the problem.”

Halloway waited to respond as he mulled over all of the new information. He allowed his subordinates to ask questions and comment first. He would have the end say all of what would happen, ultimately. Their suggestions were always important to him

Xavier saw it then for what it was. Two sides of the same coin.

“I want you both gone. Lets find Leamas immediately and solve this problem. Your going to have to tell us your weakness so we can quickly exploit it against him. If not that then lets hear the plan. The one that takes us from here to him.” Xavier had become very direct.

Ylana didn’t know exactly what physical weakness the Kalidonians might have but she knew the psychological one that Leamas has and it had something to do with intrigue over power, like hers. Something about his fascination with her made her incredibly uneasy. “The Vren aren’t exactly our dearest friends, either. The longer you are here, the more likely they will find out and assume some sort of collaboration, likely against them.”

“But…” Eviros began, feeling a nervousness that wasn’t usual for her. “I think I know how to find Leamas, or… bring him somewhere.” Her voice had flattened slightly and she knew given her revelation to Michael about her pregnancy, that she had to tread carefully here. That was a detail she also had to share with her Commanding Officer sooner rather than later, and she had a feeling that she might not get away with it being other than now.
