Ylana pondered the set-up. “We’ll be in EVA suits, which is a particular vulnerability should things go wrong. The fewer people we have out there, the better. But I do think myself, if not everyone have a subdermal transponder inserted so that in the event of an issue, it’ll be easier for a transporter to get a specific lock. It’ll lessen the time to takes to get someone to safety.” If Leamas decided to go on the offensive physically with her, well, she did want a chance to live through it.

“Good idea. I’m just worried we really don’t know the extent of his powers. If we cannot get close to you then we will need to get you out quick. even so you might end up on your own out there.” Longstreet said.

She gazed at him, feeling a mix of things that needed to be expressed. She didn’t know Preston very well outside of work, but right now she felt it was important for him to understand some things about her and this situation. “I am anyway,” she said softly, without any judgement. “Regardless of where I am on this colony, and what steps we take for my safety, or even whether I’m pregnant or not, I am at the same amount of risk because I exist and Leamas knows that.”

Ylana exhaled slightly. “I don’t know what will happen, but the thing I really need you to understand Preston is that I don’t fear Leamas. Not really. I’m worried about the lasting effect on my mind, but for me, the benefits outweigh the risks. Look, I don’t know how in depth you’ve gone into my file, but I would imagine that you at least know my telekinesis was not something I was born with, nor did I acquire it quote on quote naturally. It was an experiment that was done to me, and other Betazoids during the occupation of our planet by the Dominion. Ever since I survived that I’ve been only ever trying to keep my abilities at bay. I’ve never wanted to explore them because the past that went with it was too much for me to deal with, too painful. But… Michael and I agreed that it would be good for me to start testing my TK out and learning to use it like a tool. Leamas is a part of that for better or worse. I met get thrown off the deep end but at least I’ll be learning to use them.”

“Sometimes I wonder if somethings are best left unexplored. Not that we have that luxury or its my choice anyway.” Longstreet said being completely honest. “Lets get to it. The sooner we get you out of this mess the better. The sooner both Leamas and Archanon are gone the better.”

“I couldn’t agree more on that last point,” Ylana said simply. And yet… it wasn’t so simple. She of course didn’t want the headache their presence brought, but at the same time her entire personal worldview had been shockingly and irreversibly opened up.

Longstreet was ready to proceed.

Moving along, Eviros was working through their steps. “Okay, so how long will your team need to be ready? I have to take care of something important before we go out. I can meet you at the runabout then.”

“30 minutes no more. We will be geared and good to go.” He answered.

Ylana nodded. “I’ll be there,” she said and headed for a lift to take her to the secondary S&T in the building. Yes, she had to get some things in order asap.
