“Reputation means nothing to the Juuv” K’vorth replied, taking a seat at the table from where he had stood during his brothers story. “Neither does honor. They fear the loss of everything they have taken, and that makes them dangerous and capable of the unexpected. You need to understand the danger. Arresting them, us, will change nothing aside from making them more dangerous and giving them another target. Your city. Arrest them, and they will see your people as aiding us, even if we are arrested with them. That will only see the Juuv in prison with us dead, and a lot more civilians dead from the insane need they have to secure their holdings from the truth.”

K’vorth looked at his brother and sneered in disgust, “The Juuv will not work in the open, not until they have no other response. They have a fleet of ships, our ships by right, and if they feel the need they will not hesitate to open fire with that fleet and destroy this city to keep their secrets. They have done it before Brother, you know this.” He looked between the two, “We have no desire for civilians to die, but the relic is here. And the Juuv likely already looking.”

There was a pregnant pause once more and Pangolin smiled slightly “I didn’t say ‘arrest’ K’vorth, I said apprehend. And that comes only if they harm civilians. And I don’t care how powerful they think they are destroying a Federation Colony I can promise you it isn’t going to happen. There are contingencies being put in place for every move they can make. We won’t officially intervene don’t worry about that, we don’t like you three enough to go to war with a Klingon Great House, but we’ll give you time to do what you need.”

Urg smiled, a rictus grin sweeping his face. “My brothers and I appreciate your understanding, Inspector. And know this. House Duroc… we… have honor the depths of which no Juuv could begin to fathom. We will die before we allow an innocent to be killed. The Builder expects nothing less from his faithful.” and he stood and went to a large cabinet, opened it, retrieved three goblets and filled them from a barrel of Blood Wine, and carried them to the table. Setting one down in front of each person, he raised his glass to Pangolin and his brother. “We drink to seal our bond. House Duroc will stand against House Juuv and their lackeys. We will keep harm from those who have no part in our quest. You, Inspector, will ensure that we have the opportunity to prove our claim. This is our pact.”

Pangolin silently took the cup with a grim smile and raised it “So it is”

With a grunt, K’vorth reached out and took his goblet. “The Juuv with crash against Duroc like waves against the mountain. When the tide retreats, the Builder will rise once again.” He looked at each of the others, then raised his goblet and drank the Bloodwine, not stopping until it was empty.

A burst of static over the ship’s communications heralded an incoming message. “Hey Urg! You there?” came a voice. Urg grinned slightly and said “A moment.” and stood up and walked to a control panel on the wall. “Speak, gladiator. I am here.” he growled into the comms. “You wanted to know when group of pissed off looking… well, more than normal pissed off anyway… Klingons arrived, right? Well, we just got word a Vorcha class cruiser will be arriving here from the Klingon home world in two hours. They asked specifically about that wreck of a ship you call home, by the way.” Urg turned and looked at the two other occupants of the galley. “You have earned your pay. And a bonus. Keep clear of them when they arrive.” and he closed the channel.

“Juuv is here.” he said with a determined sneer.

Urg’tohn, Son of the Builder

“Then, it is time to make offerings to the Builder and prepare for battle.” K’vorth said, and stood, looking at his brother from his uncovered eye. “I will prepare the ceremony, Brother. Make your way to the chamber when you are ready for the blessing of Kvaar’ton.” Nodding at Pangolin, K’vorth turned at exited the room, turning to head deeper into the bowels of the wreck of a vessel they called home.

Urg nodded and said “I will be there, brother.” and looked at Pangolin. “Juuv will send their House representative to speak with a government representative. They will ensure that they are far clear of any violence and are in the presence of those who can vouch for them… cowards that they are, they will not fight face to face. Once they are in the presence of your officials to discuss the Holy Relic, they will send a signal to their ship and the assassins will leave and come looking for us… and probably try to blow up our ship again.” he added as an almost after thought.

“Now… I have an idea that would keep all of this not only away from your people, but give your government a way of remaining neutral and not involved… officially , at least. But it would require your help, and that of your superior.”

Urg’Tohn, Warrior of the Builder.

Pangolin lowered his glass of Bloodwine slowly “And what plan have you formulated” He asked curiously.

Urg smiled. “Meet with Juuv’s representatives. Allow them into the office or conference or wherever you would hold such meetings. But block all comm signals while they are inside. While they will think their signal has gone out, it won’t. The assassins will remain on board. Tell them during that meeting that you want to inspect their vessel. They will claim, as they always do, that their ship is ‘sovereign territory’ or some such drivel. They do that to keep their assassins from being discovered. My brothers and I will enter their ship and kill them all. Inside their vessel. No one on Oed V will even have seen them. And as they will have insisted that their ship is outside of your jurisdiction, the deaths will have nothing to do with you or the people who live here. Your people would be protected, the assassins would be dead, and no one would be the wiser. And if by some miracle we fail and are killed ourselves? We broke into their ship and they defended themselves. And we are dead and all of this - ” and he gestured wildly around “- goes away.” Urg leaned forward, a wicked grin on his face. “So what say you, Inspector? Do you want to help us? Or do you wish to put more innocents at risk? Because one way or another… there is going to be blood today.”

Urg’tohn, Slayer of Heretical Assassins

Pangolins eyes narrowed at his suggestion. Such clandestine action would possibly require the Assistance of Starfleet Security and there was no chance they would be party to assassination. He took a moment to consider. A good long moment before coming to a decision “Alright, I don’t think we’ll have much of a problem with meeting them. They’ll want to meet with the leadership here and probably not Starfleet. The Commissioner won’t want the Governor directly involved or even aware of this at all. There are factors we will need to consider such as Starfleet’s involvement. The Starfleet Security Chief is a reasonable man but also extremely competent, you’ll need to work fast if you don’t want him to catch you in the act and intervene.” He thought out loud.

“I’ll leave it to the boss to decide how to deal with them” He continued “But how certain are you they won’t simply call out the assassins before we have a chance to block their coms, presumably we’ll only be able to do so when we have them in a single stationary location?” He asked.
