The dock master’s office was quiet when the comms activated, startling the Andorian dock master out of his mid-morning nap. “Oed V Docks. This is the Klingon battle cruiser ‘bortaS’, flagship of House Juuv, Nobel House of Qo’noS. We will be taking up orbit in twenty minutes. A DujHod shuttle carrying representatives of House Juuv will be docking at your facilities ten minutes after that. They are expected by the museum Curator and Oed V officials. Prepare for their arrival as befits them, and send the necessary notifications.” and the comms cut off. The dock master looked confusedly at the panel for a moment, but then his sensors showed the Negh’Var beginning it’s approach into stationary orbit. Swearing loudly, he began frantically tapping commands into his desk interface and issuing orders. It was then that the flag on the name ‘Juuv’ appeared. “Contact DCI Pangolin immediately upon arrival of House Juuv representatives.” and the dock master swore again. He hated when the police got involved, it always meant more paperwork.

Letting forth a stream of obscenities, he then activated his comms. =/\= Dock master to DCI Pangolin. Computer said to notify you if anyone from the Klingons named Juuv arrived; well, they’re here. Shuttle inbound in… thirty five minutes. They said they were expected. You want them anywhere specific? I have docking bays 2, 3, 9, 11 and eighteen completely empty; and 7, 14, and 21 can fit their shuttle with the current vessels in them. =/\=

Pangolin had been laying on the couch inside the Police Commissioners office for the past hour when he received the call. He exchanged a knowing glance with his boss and with a wicked smile he opened the channel on his end =^=Put them in bay two, don’t want to insult our dignitaries with too high a number=^= He muted his side and gave his boss a glance “Two isn’t an unlucky Klingon number is it?” He was only answered with a deadly glare, he chuckled at his own joke and unmuted the Comm =^=Instruct the staff to give the Klingons a wide berth, I’ll be there in ten minutes with the welcome wagon, Pangolin out=^= He closed the channel and spun around, sitting up “Well boss, you’ve really got us in it this time, you may wish to break out the old sword” He said with a smile. Karlson stayed quiet, turning to look outside his excellent view.

The Dock master was about to respond when the line cut off, and he silently swore. He tapped a few commands and said =/\= Klingon Battle Cruiser bortaS, Oed V Dock Master. Your shuttle is cleared to land in docking bay number two. Oed V representatives will be on hand to greet you upon your arrival. =/\= and he cut the comms just as the door to office opened. Turning to lash out at whoever decided now was a good time to bother him, he instead choked back the impending words as he saw standing in the doorway the largest Klingon he had ever seen.

Standing almost seven feet tall and weighing close to four hundred pounds, Urg’tohn of House Duroc was an imposing figure, and that was not including the current look of barely concealed blood lust playing across his face. Behind him, back to the door and keeping a watchful eye, was K’vorth of House Duroc, his hand resting on the disruptor on his hip. His eye patch was visible as the dock master looked from Urg to K’vorth and back again.

With a silence that was positively unnatural for a being so large, Urg moved into the office and looked down on the dock master. “I am going to ask once and only once. Where is House Juuv’s ship?” His voice was like boulders crashing into each other in some far off cataclysm, and his face left no doubt that he would not ask again. “N-n-n-no-not arrived yet. Twenty minutes away.” he stammered. “Where will they dock?” Urg’tohn asked calmly. It was the calm that was the most worrisome to the poor man. “They- they-theywillbeindocktwo…” he said, his words running together in fear. Urg smiled and reached to his belt, his hand coming dangerously close to the DK Tahg on his belt. But instead of taking it, his hand slipped behind it and he brought forth a slip of gold pressed latinum. “Thank you. You should go to lunch for the next hour or two. Take whomever you can from your dock crew. And keep everyone away from two once the ship has been docked. And we were never here. Do you understand?”

For all the fear that the man felt, greed was a surprisingly staunch antidote. Blinking only once, he took the slip and it disappeared into his pocket. He looked at the Klingons and said “Um… sorry. I can’t help you fine Vulcan gentlemen right now. Lunch break.” and he stepped around Urg and past K’vorth. Yelling out some instructions, a good portion of the dock crew shrugged and made their way out of the area, following the dock master and the promise of free food and drink.

Urg watched them leave and looked at his brother. “Let us find a good place to watch Juuv’s arrival, my brother.”

Almost exactly ten minutes after he’d cut the Comm line Pangolin arrived in the docking bay. He was escorted by two uniformed Police Officers and a short redheaded woman. The two were bantering as they arrived, their conversation seemed to amuse the two Uniforms greatly. “Look all I’m saying is, watching the boss spank some Klingons is much more fun” He said to his shorter human college. She snorted at his comment and the two others exchanged amused glances “Amusing or not, Do we really want more Klingons here, I mean first he sets them up in his brother’s bar and you go off on some secret meetings. What’s really going on Pan?” She asked more seriously. The tall man looked at her and gave the younger detective a reassuring smile “Don’t worry about it, It’s just a bunch of Klingon drama about some rock and the boss is curious, you know he’s always been interested in Klingon Politics. Besides Kronos is as far from here as Earth is. There’s bound to be Klingon courtly drama occasionally.” He explained not unconvincingly.

K’vorth moved from the door and stood beside his Brother. Not a small man by any means, Urg beside him still looked a giant. A low growl escaped K’vorths throat as he surveyed the docks and the consoles before him, and noticeably his face had a fierce diagonal stripe of what appeared to be war paint that blended into horns that lay beside his temple, one of which appeared to have been painted to look broken. His bald head also had marks of paint across the ridges which made it look as if he walked in shadow. Aside from the Disruptor on his waist, the Klingon carried a number of daggers on his person, a Mek’leth opposite the pistol and very clearly a large Bat’leth on his back, blade bared and already streaked in dried blood. A cut on K’vorths hand indicated the ritual he had performed in preparation for the battle.

“We fight this battle with honor, Brother mine.” K’vorth growled low. “They still have powerful allies in the Council, allies that will protest the renewal of House Duroc. We fight with blades, Brother, with honor and with glory. The stand of the Brothers against the Juuv, will become legend, and when we present the heads of Juuv to the Council alongside the scroll and dagger of Kvaar’ton, they will have no choice but to raise Duroc back to its rightful place. That, or we take the Council.” K’vorth looked at his Brother with his single eye, and it gleamed dangerously, his teeth bared in a grin. Or perhaps it was the smile of a predator about to feast.
