IC: Barnes looked back at Dawson, his nerves showing clearer than day. He had been about to answer when Tyra pointed out that they needed to be quiet and nodded at her.

“Yes, you’re right. Sorry.” He apologized as he crawled closer, keeping behind her but able to assist her if needed.

OOC: Bump to keep this on the board and not lost.

Tyra moved forward slightly and began looking for the easiest way to get out of the vents. She worked quietly as her fingers went around the edge of the vent grate.

The screws came off easier than expected. They plopped into the tunnel and silenced by Tyra catching them. When the last screw finished, the vent grate came off and revealed the interior. In the tight spaced tunnel were many cages. Within each one was one or two animals, pacing or slumbering in small quarters. Some looked rather ragged from their less than ideal habitat.

Ahead of their position, a few voices drew closer. Two were familiar while the other wasn’t. If they didn’t move fast, they were at high risk of being spotted.

OOC: Bumping to keep on the board.

Tyra looked at the others and ducked out of the way “Come on.” She said quietly.

OOC: Shoot, I thought I was missing one of these threads. I don’t know how I missed it. Sorry guys!

IC: Dawson moved quickly with the tags ready. There was no telling how soon they would arrive. He moved quickly to tag several of the animals in different locations, giving a tag or two to other members of the team. “Quickly, spread out the tags. We don’t know which ones they will be taking next.”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

Matt nodded in silence. On his hands and feet, he crawled forward and dropped to the ground. When he hit the ground, his foot failed to catch friction on the smooth floor. He leg slipped forward causing his arm to catch the nearest cage to steady himself. Jarred by the sudden sound, a creature crossed between a fish and tiger whirled about. Its jaws snapped at the officer causing him to fall on his ass.

His eyes widened while his skin drained all color, unaware of the bars that saved him.

Dawson’s words shook him out of the shock causing him to turn to the older man. He swallowed his fear and nodded, his hand reached for the tags.

“Y-yes. Of course. Aren’t we also suppose to create a distraction?” he asked with meekness in his voice.

Tyra took several tags as well “Once we have the animals tagged.” She said “We need to move quickly.” Tyra added as she began tagging several of the animals. She didn’t understand why people would be stealing the animals, however once they were caught, she would do her best to make sure that they were held accountable for their behavior.

Among the animal cages, the voices became louder. Valkris, Conrad and their guide arrived outside the room they were in. Their conversation was low, but clear to all those around them to speed up their work. Any loud sound could give them away causing the plan to crumble.

Matt proceeded to the earlier aggressive animals. They seemed determined to tear off a hand if he went near them. He had to ignore that, much to his displeasure, as he leaned in. The moment his hand touched the cage, one of the fish-felines swiped at him.

Blood trickled down from a deep cut along the tendon, the flesh cleared down to the bone. Not willing to give away their position, Matt other hand came up and he bit down on it. The flesh muffled his scream, but the blood caused the animals’ irritation to grow.

If it wasn’t dealt with, the sounds would attract unwanted attention. Barnes’ wound also needed to attended or he risked bleeding out due to how deep it was.
