“After you,” Kasmira gestured Nicholas inside the Tower, her attention subtly drifting to their surroundings. Nobody was following. “I had Lt. Xorten check in with Admiral Emaastren prior to meeting me here,” she explained as she caught up, “I suspect that gives us half an hour until she and her unit arrive.”

Nicholas walked in, appearing as just another Starfleet officer.

Kassidine pushed past the swarm of people scurring across the lobby floor. They were mindless in pursuit of their destination, thoughts singled down to the point of total ignorance to those around them. Foolish people, she thought. Taking the lead, Kasmira stepped up to the reception desk where a young man was situated, chatting boredly with someone on the other end of the line.

“I’m affraid she is not seeing people at the moment,” He droned on, a look of irritation shimmering behind his trained gaze. “No, sir. I will have your messag– No, sir. I apologise for the inconvenience.” The whisper of shouting rose above the clatter of heels slamming against the tile, the mark of clear dissatisfaction. “Yes, I will let her know. If you would call back after four–sir?” He tapped his earpiece. “Mr. Stein?” Nothing. “Hmm,” a sigh built in his chest but he didn’t let it free. Several seconds passed before the receptionist realised the pair. “Oh! Sorry about that.” Bashfulness crept into the blush dusting his cheekbones, “What can I do for you?”

“Cmdr. Kasmira Kassidine, with Starfleet Intel, to see Captain Xavier,” she gave him little time to respond, “tell him Lt. Cmdr. James is with me.”

“Okay..” He tapered of, throwing a look between the gathered Officers. He knew better than to question Intel. Especially with James in tow. “Captain Xavier,” he buzzed the Lt. Governor’s office. “Cmdr. Kassidine of Intelligence is here to see you. She has Cmdr. James with her.

A mini PaDD in Nicholas’ pocket buzzed. It was his contact.
[I don’t want to know why you want info on aerosol dispersal devices. There are two basic types: grenade and detonation.]
[Grenade is what it sounds like. Basically a tear gas grenade but loaded with a bioweapon. Once the pin is out, there is no way to defuse one. But there is a delay between pulling the pin and gas release. That’s your window to contain it.]
[Detonation devices are much worse, but they can be disarmed. Just like traditional bombs, but instead of an explosion, gas attack.]
<[Thanks.]
Nicholas casually handed Kasmira the PaDD.

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO

Kassidine looked over the PaDD as though reading a message from a mutual colleague, “I suppose we’ll be in for a surprise.” She remarked, with little context for anyone listening.

A figure appeared behind the two officers and made his presence known. “Make that three to see him,” state Michael Halloway.

-Governor Michael Halloway

“Ah..yes, sir.” The receptionist tapped his comm once more, “Captain Xavier, the Governor wishes to accompany the Commanders to your office. Would you like me to send them in?

Governor. Her expression hardened. Turning to face the man behind them, Kasmira offered a curt nod. “Governor Halloway,” she spoke calmly despite the shrewd glint in her eye. There was more to say, but this was neither the time nor the place.

Nameless Receptionist

Nicholas turned to face the Governor. His false, electric blue eyes betrayed little emotion. “Governor. We’re just waiting for the Lt Governor to finish up with some business before we go in. Are you sure you wouldn’t prefer meeting with us privately? That can easily be arranged.”

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO

“No thank you Commander,” the Governor stated with a half-hearted smile. “I don’t keep many secrets between myself and my Lt. Governor unless its absolutely needed, so no need.” The Governor then brushed past them and knocked on the door, a cadence that the Xavier would recognize as his own. After a few second pause, he opened the door.

-Governor Michael Halloway

OOC: And cue awkward moment lol. :P -Tony

OOC: elevator music
A lil’ bump for Sidney, whenever you’ve got the change. :D

IC:

Kasmira threw a glance Nicholas’ way, amused by the Governor’s candid disposition. He presented himself a straight shooter, and like them, he wouldn’t waste time beating around the bush. She could work with that. In a subtle gesture to Xavier’s door, entertainment betraying her phlegmatic temperament, Kassidine trailed after Halloway.
