Approximately a week before the arrival of the Klingon warriors, Dash turned up at the Spaceport outside the office of Parker Xavier.

“I am Dashel Jamison here to meet Captain Xavier,” Dashel advised someone outside his office, “I’m the new CIO and am newly arrived to Oed V.”

He was wearing his dress uniform, with klingon baldric over the top, and bat’leth at hand. The officer in question glanced at both items, but made no comment, it would be up to the Lieutenant Governor to say anything if it was deemed necessary.

The Lt. Gov looked at the Klingon SF officer.

“Well first you will announce yourself to my office by your SF rank first. Second leave your weapon behind.” The Captain said looking stern at the new CIO.

He then turned and went into his office expecting the Klingon to follow. One thing the Lt. Gov knew was that Klingons respected stern leadership and direct bosses. So he would give him that to him at first. Plus he did screw it up and needed to be told the boundaries around his new boss.

OOC: Sorry I forgot. He was raised Klingon but is not actually Klingon. Well roll with it and just pretend. Please.

OOC: BUMP

OOC: Thanks Sidney, and no problem … I think I suggested your office was in the spaceport, when it is actually in the Government Tower, if I understand the website correctly. Thanks for your patience with me and the bump.

IC:
At least I did wear the dress uniform Dash thought to himself as he put the bat’leth down outside the office and entered the office closely behind the man.

“Captain Xavier, I am Lieutenant Dashel Jamison, Son of Morak. I am here to serve as the new CIO, Sir. I apologise for my lapse in judgement outside your office, Sir. I assure you, it won’t happen again,” Dashel said once inside the office. Not sure if a salute was required or not, Dash proceeded to salute his commanding officer and stood at attention until the Lt Governor told him he could relax. Even though he left his bat’leth outside, Dash still had his transfer orders on him, grasped in his left hand.

Xavier gave him a quick salute and then waved from him to sit in front of the spartan desk with just a few things on the clear glass top. He reached out for the orders.

After reading them he smiled at the Lt.

“I’m somewhat surprised of your upbringing Lt. Its not everyday I sit next to a human that was raised as a Klingon now serving SF.” Xavier said and realized that even saying it out loud seemed, well, odd. However his tone had changed to a more informal one now. No use and dressing down the man further. The point was made.

Xavier

“My parents died in service to Starfleet and the Federation while serving on the USS Might, Captain,” Dash said soberly, “despite the best efforts of Captain ConDoin and the rest of the senior staff, it turned out that I had no living relatives left alive. Lt Morak, who was serving on the USS Might as a Trainee Counselor, and yes, that is perhaps even odder, asked for formal permission to adopt me. That was granted, and so I left with him to do the rest of my growing up on Qon’os with Morak and his family, which included a Klingon son about a year or so my junior. Life as a human among Klingons did not go smoothly fall me, as I’m sure you can imagine, and I endured teasing and worse by my ‘brother’ and the other Klingon youth. It wasn’t until we were forced to go through one of the Klingon Rite of Ascension together that he and I grew closer. He came to tolerate me, which was almost akin to liking me in human terms. Morak gave me the baldric to remember my Klingon adopted family and the locket to remember my human family.”

Dash reached in beneath the collar of his dress uniform and pulled out a locket in the shape of a heart. Opening it, Dash showed Xavier the picture within - a man, a woman, and two adolescent boys.

“Soon after that, Jimmy died,” Dash said, he then closed the locket and returned it to underneath the collar of his dress uniform.

“You are correct, Sir, my upbringing is unusual, but without it, I would never have gone into Starfleet Intelligence, or applied for a position on Oed V.” Dash concluded.

OOC: My apologies, Sydney for my lack of posting to the thread.
