“Did they bring anything with them? Anything at all.”

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO

Conrad stared blankly back at the question. “Gee, I wonder, would scientists and engineers just come on their own accord, or would they perhaps have brought some gear or personal belongings? Of course they brought things with them! All sorts of things. They are after all uprooting their lives for awhile to help with the second dome building. Perhaps if you are looking for something specific I could enlighten you?” he inquired curiously.

-Michael Conrad, Black Sparrow CO

“Anything beyond personal belongings. Complex equipment, chemicals. The kind of things that are probably available in the laboratory they’re moving to work in, but for some reason they brought their own.” One would think that is obvious. Threatening things. Not sweaters.

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO

-bump-

“No, if there was something intense or complex, it was held in cargo storage or transported separately. All cargo has been unloaded, so if you’re looking for something or someone specific, perhaps you may want to check the docks.” Conrad eyed the man, waiting for more potential questions. He’d answer what he could, but he was calm. Nobody, and he knew that nobody, could waltz into his ship. Not with Katrina aboard.

-Michael Conrad, Black Sparrow CO

Nicholas didn’t have time to arrange a search. His connection with Starfleet security was tenuous given Longstreet’s past. Civilian police would need some sort of warrant. He pulled a mini PaDD out of his pocket. Scrolling through his contacts, he found no friends, but many a useful ally. OED V Customs officer Selina Jacobs.
{I need a stop and search. Black Sparrow passengers and all associated cargo.]
}That’s a big ask.]
{Call It a safety of OED level favour.]
}What’s happening?]
{I’ll tell you when I know. But I need that search.]
}I’ll do what I can.]
Nicholas stowed his mini PaDD. “You spend much time with your passengers?”

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO
(OOC: Leaving It to Trin and Tony to decide if the search goes through/finds anything)

Michael Conrad raised an eyebrow at seeing the mini-pad. He thought nothing more of it as he continued through the customs line. “Not a whole lot. Just enough to get the basic personality. I get a hold of all background information before they come aboard. Nobody boards without my discovering where they’ve been and what they intend to do. Why are you so interested in the passengers I brought here?”

-Michael Conrad, Black Sparrow CO

(OOC: The search won’t go through, which you can RP out if you wish. Basically, at this point, to search the Black Sparrow would require the Lt. Governor present, which would require special reasoning. There is special tech aboard that might make a search difficult. ;) You could always try to do it yourself without his knowing, but you’ll still run into an issue. Cargo has been dropped off at the docks to be picked up. )

Nicholas’ mini PaDD buzzed.
}No go. Lt Gov authorisation required.]
{Do better. At least the cargo on the docks.]
}You’re asking a lot.]
{Get it done.]

“I’m not sure what’s happening yet. But the Black Sparrow was detained in orbit longer than she needed to be. Combine that with a few other things and that puts you and your passengers at the centre of something suspicious.”

-Lt Cmdr Nicholas James, CIO

Conrad eyed the man up. “I wasn’t given a very good response to my communique. I’m wondering if maybe the base was experiencing some technical difficulties? Things seemed to be fine on my side. I’m probably not the person you should speak to on that. As far as I know, we had clearance, and now I’m here.” He shrugged. “What more do you want?”

-Michael Conrad, Black Sparrow CO

“We’re done. I’ll find you if I need you.” Nicholas stalked off and disappeared into the shadows.

Up in the landing control tower, a voice interrupted proceedings. “Who handled the Black Sparrow landing?”

-Nicholas James, Section 31
