Six months had passed since the Followers of Kvaar’Ton left Oed V in the ‘repossessed’ House Juuv shuttle. No word had been directed to Oed V or any of it’s personnel in that time. But that was about to change…

A large… very large… Klingon vessel approached the outpost. Comms came to life in Oed V’s traffic control and the image of very large Klingon came into view. “Oed V, this is Lord Urg’tohn of House Duroc, Faithful of Kvaar’Ton the Builder, Commanding Officer of IKS Drohl’Gah. House Duroc requests permission to land a shuttle at your docks. We also respectfully request to be met by Inspector Pangolin and Commissioner Karlson. And by respectfully request, we mean bring them. IKS Drohl’Gah out.” and the comm went dark.

OOC: Sorry, Forgot to tag the involved parties.

Much like the last time, the Klingons arrived Pangolin was in Karlson’s office, to be precise he was lying on the Commissioners sofa casually throwing a ball up towards the ceiling as the oversized Police Chief did some paperwork. The Chief Inspector was sharing some anecdote about a biker gang and a Bajoran priest, Joseph wasn’t entirely sure as he hadn’t been listening for the last ten minutes. When the call came respectfully asking the Police Commissioner to meet with the Klingons the pair shared amused glances “I’ll have the boys bring out the extra-large mops” Pangolin said with a wry smile. Joseph didn’t respond, merely put on his jacket and grabbed his sidearm from the desk, attaching it to his lower back.

Not five minutes later the Police Commissioner, Detective Chief Inspector Pangolin and their sizeable escort arrived. There were already Uniformed officers waiting for them, having cleared the docks the Klingons would be arriving at. Joe straightened his jacked absentmindedly “I assume this means that our Klingon friends were successful in reclaiming their house” He said with a half-smile “Does this mean you’ll actually go on the Chancellors Targ hunt this year?” Pangolin asked with his wry smile “Who knows Major, who knows” Karslon answered returning the smile.

OOC: BUmping to keep it on the board

The Klingon shuttle drifted slowly into the dock and settled on the deck. A few minutes passed before the hatch opened and a pair of burly (even for Klingons) warriors stepped out and to each side, warily eyeing the assembled officers as the hatch slid closed behind them. They seemed to be looking for something, and one of them settled their gaze on Pangolin and Karlson. Lifting a PaDD up and looking at something, presumably a picture, he grunted and the other guard banged a gauntlet-ed fist on the hatch. It slid open in answer and there emerged the familiar form of Urg’tohn, ducking his way through the hatch to stand before the two law enforcement representatives.

Urg was dressed much better this time, the haphazard armor of his former incarnation being replaced by already used but immaculate Klingon armor and robes. On his chest hung a large medallion, the symbol of the Builder prominently displayed. On his hips were his trademark disruptors, and in his hand he carried the object that led to the past six month’s activities: a massive black maul with a wicked hook on the back and wide, flat head. Unlike the last time it was seen on Oed V, it was no longer encased in the strange red mineral. Now it was polished and shining, although signs of recent use were apparent to the trained eye.
Looking down at the two figures, a broad smile crossed Urg’tohn’s lips and he took a deep breath and said “My friends. Truly the Builder has blessed us that we may meet again, and under such auspicious circumstances.” And he dropped a huge hand on Pangolin’s shoulder, held it there a moment as he looked him square in the eye, and then did the same to Karlson. “It is good to see you both.”

Lord Urg’tohn of House Duroc

Both men responded to the greeting with glee, although Josephs response was more natural and Pangolin’s was much more rigid “And the same to you” Joseph said with a smile “I see that your Hammer has been of some use” He pointed to the ancient weapon. He turned, indicating the large man to follow and started walking down the hallway. Pangolin spoke next “It’s safe to say that nobility suits you Urg’tohn.”

Joseph Karlson and DCI Pangolin

As they began walking, the warriors that made up Urg’s Honor Guard feel in behind the three figures in the lead. Unlike Urg’tohn, they wore the symbold of several different houses.

“Nobility. Bah.” came Urg’tohn’s reply and was followed by a spit on the ground from the massive Klingon. “Nobility is a cesspool of maggots feeding off the waste of a society, those born into it knowing only their own bloated appetites until they die chocking on their own vomit.” he growled. “But some know that there is more to life than title and holdings. Those are the one’s we have begun to ally with. And trust me when I say… Qo’nos has not seen such social upheaval in centuries. And many are not happy.” and he laughed loudly. “Those are the one’s that cause these dogs to be with me.” and he jerked a thumb at the guards. “Chancellor’s orders. The fifth assassin I killed was some other House’s pawn, and the Chancellor did not appreciate me sending him the corpse’s head in a gift basket to his mistress’s house. But I haven’t had to defend House Duroc in some weeks, so there is that.”

Urg’tohn, Loyal Follower of the Builder

Joseph laughed at that “I see the Chancellor still hasn’t developed a sense of humor” Joseph led the party outdoors were several hovercraft waited for them “I wasn’t certain if you would be staying very long or where but my wife just finished a Surgery at Sacred Heart, We’d be happy to host you at our house” Pangolin stepped in quite keen “If we do go we can see the Commish’s trophy museum” He had a Schoolboy grin on his face but was quieted down by a look from Joseph “There’s good privacy and Security there plus I have booze” The older man smiled.

“Booze is good. As is privacy. We have some matters to discuss.” and with that he turned and looked back at the entourage. “Tell my brother where we are. He can meet us.” and the guard slammed a fist on his chest in acknowledgement. “And have the gifts brought to the Commissioner’s house. And tell the Captain to bring herself, as well. I’m sure she would love to see Oed V.” he added with a smile that did not seem pleasant, even for him.

Urg’tohn, Lord of House Duroc

Joseph simply raised an eyebrow at the Klingons comment but did not ask “Well follow me” He led the Klingon to a central vehicle. Large enough to accommodate the Large Klingon and a guard plus Karlson and Pangolin. They sat in the back whilst a small human man sat at the helm and drove the hover. The escorts hovered around, one lead car and two follow vehicles that took any additional Klingon Security plus two police hovercruisers as escort. The journey from the transport hub to the residential district did not take long at all, the route was preplanned and the Police Escort sped up the journey. After they arrived in the residential sector they moved to the more prestigious area where other Cabinet members and the like had their homes.

The entrance to the gated property had a large fence that was already open. The escort Hovercruisers stopped there allowing the hovercars to move past. Up the driveway the group could see the house, an old French-style villa with more modern additions, including a what looked like a penthouse built on top. Most of the property was covered in various trees and hedges giving privacy. The door opened and Joseph stepped out, stretching slightly as he did, Pangolin handed him his wooden cane. “My brother gave me this house for my 40th birthday, He won it in some card game or other. When I first arrived here he had it built for me with some additions. Bedrooms to fit me and my whole family; children, grandhildren, siblings, nephews and nieces and of course my parents if they could ever be convinced to leave Earth. It’s actually the first house I’ve lived in since I was eighteen years old, I lived mostly in ships or generally in transit so it was quite the adjustment” He smiled back at the Klingon.

Urg looked around and nodded once. “I like it. I’ll have to remember to tell the gardeners to do something like this with the trees on the House grounds.” and he looked at the two police officers. “We are trying to ‘de-Juuvinate’ the place.” and he grinned his wicked grin.

“Now for the important matters… where is the food and drink?” and he laughed heartily as another vehicle arrived. It stopped behind the first arrivals, and the doors opened. Out of each came a large Klingon with House Duroc seals on their chests. Stepping back, the ones on the left hand side made way for a figure to step out… a figure both men would recognize. The large Klingon female named K’letn, last seen leaving Oed V after killing Lord Juuv, glared in their direction and then looked at Urg’tohn. “My Lord.” she said and bowed her head. Urg smiled and set a hand on both Karlson and Pangolin’s shoulders. “My friends. I would like to re-introduce you to K’letn. She is the Captain of House Duroc’s flagship… and my Mate.”

Urg, Lord of House Duroc and Faithful of The Builder

The reaction in the men was on the opposite sides of the reactionary spectrum Joseph was calm composed and smiled slightly at the introduction and gave the woman a slight bow, Pangolin, on the other hand, stared at the woman mouth agape. It took him a moment to compose himself “I see you graduated from crazed mongrel to lordly lover” The Police Commissioner said as he patted the giant Klingon on his back. Pangolin finally managed to speak “I guess congratulations?” His look of amasement turned into a friendly smile “Well met K’letn” He said inclining his head. “Well, in any case, it is time for food” Joseph said as he led the group through the now open doors.

Urg laughed and looked at K’letn who, remarkably, laughed as well. It was not a pretty laugh, more disturbing and slightly terrifying.

They went through a large open foyer past a large staircase and several closed doors until they came to a large room on the other end of the Villa. In the center of the room was a large carved wooden table with several stocky chairs with ornate decorations carved into them. The room itself was decorated with several ancient weapons on the walls and the stuffed heads of several animals all alien in origin, one of which was the recognizable head of a Targ. Joseph moved to the left end of the table, placed his hand on the top of the chair “Please have a seat, the food will be brought forth shortly”

Commissioner Karlson

Urg looked around the room and nodded approvingly. Looking at the Targ, he said “Nice. You bag it?” to Joseph.

Urg’tohn, House Duroc

“Indeed I did” Joseph said with a half-smile “I have a standing invite to hunt on Qo’noS, I try to make a trip either every other year or more often if I can. I generally dislike hunting animals for sport, I found the hunting of war criminals and the like to be much more enjoyable, but as I grow older I find that hunting creatures from the Targs and upwards provide some challenging entertainment” As the Commissioner spoke the group were brought drinks. A floating drone poured a yellowish drink for Pangolin and a dark brown liquid for Karlson but they also placed a metal goblet next to his glass. The Strawberry bots floated to them several flasks of aged Bloodwine marked ‘61. “Would you do the honours?” Joseph asked Urg indicating the unopened bottle between the two.

Commissioner Karlson

Urg simply nodded and, grasping two of the flasks by the base simultaneously, drew a familiar looking blade and whipped it across the tops of both in one smooth motion cutting the hardened blood and wax seals from the tops. Handing one to his host, he sat the other between himself and K’letn and waited, as was customary. “A fine selection. I have a few barrels of the ‘68 on board our ship. I’ll have one sent down to you.”

Urg’tohn, House Duroc

Joseph inclined his head in gratitude “I’ll make some space for it in my Wine cellar” He poured himself a full glass “So you’ve been busy, building a house making enemies. Seems like only yesterday that my brother was hosing down a trio of crazed warriors outside his Pub” Joseph said with a smile “Business is good?” He asked with a humorous tone.

Joseph Karlson

Urg laughed and said “I completely forgot about that!!” and laughed again. Looking at K’letn he said “This ja’tuk made us strip naked and get hosed off right after we landed here the first time. K’Vorth was pissed. Of course, he was still hitting on some Vulcan female that happened to arrive at that time.” and he raised a glass and looked at Karlson. “To less complicated times, my friend.”

Urg’tohn, House Duroc

Joseph raised his glass “For you maybe, it’s much simpler dining with a Klingon Lord than it is allowing a group of certified crazies run around my colony” he took a sip, looked at the wine and nodded his approval much as if he were drinking a mild red “So tell me what ails you, did you inherit the enemies of…” He paused and looked down for a moment “You know I don’t think I even remember the name of your old enemies, must be slipping in my old age. Those bIHnuch you so tastefully defeated”

Joseph Karlson

Urg let out a deep but short growl, and K’letn’s gauntleted hand clenched in a fist. Urg placed his hand on her’s and looked at Karlson. “A name best forgotten. The High Council stripped them from the histories… like they tried to do to our most revered Kvaar’ton.” At the mention of the newly reestablished Klingon deity, K’letn said simply “Hail the Builder.” Urg continued. “But to your point, their enemies are now our allies. And their destruction and dishonor has left their former allies and partners scrambling to put as much distance between them and the former House as possible. The resulting chaos has been… satisfying.” Urg said with a his trademark wicked grin and drink from the goblet. Setting it down, he looked at Karlson and Pangolin.

“But that does not mean they are simply fading away. In fact, their death throes are one of the reasons we have come back to Oed V. But that is secondary to our primary purpose. I want you to introduce me to your Governor. I intend to set up a House Embassy here, and I want your help to do so.”

Urg’tohn, Son of the Builder

Joseph chuckled slightly at the request between sips of his bloodwine “That shouldn’t be a problem, The Governor is at least tangentially aware of you and being a Klingon High Lord means that an official Diplomatic meeting should be no problem. Your guards won’t be permitted into the government building of course” He said with a chuckle “But this can be arranged some time tomorrow perhaps, depending on the Governor’s schedule.”

Karlson

“That works. Leaves us time for drink and reminiscing about simpler times.” and he took a long drink. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he belched loudly. He then looked at Pangolin. “I swear, Constable. You get paler everytime I see you. This targ bottom - ” and he jerked a thumb at Karlson, ” - ever give you a vacation. I know a fine place on Risa. I’ll get you in as my guest. Oh, make sure you take a disruptor. Last time I was there three assassins came for me.” K’letn laughed and said “It was five, and your drunk hide could only handle two.” Urg took on a look of feigned injury and hurt and said “I had been sick. And hurt. And there was an earthquake. You know this.” and the female Klingon laughed and looked at Karlson. “Only. Two.” and then punched Urg in the shoulder… hard. Urg laughed and looked at the rest of the diners. “Leave it for the bedroom, harlot.” and he waved at his guards. “Bring them.” and the guards saluted and left the room, returning a few moments later with two ebony colored boxes, setting one each in front of Karlson and then Pangolin.

Urg’Tohn, House Duroc

Pangolin gave his boss a sly look at the Klingon’s jest at which Joseph responded with a wink. It could not be said that they had picked the wrong person to ally themselves with. He was at least not as dry and boring as the other Klingon lord had been. When the boxes were brought forward Pangolin immediately placed his hands on them but Joseph motioned him to stop “Gifts?” The Commissioner said with a wry smile “You grant us far too much honour my friend” He said bowing his head slightly in appreciation, Pangolin mimicked the reaction before opening the box.

Commissioner Karlson

Urg laughed once. “I give you no more honor than you have earned.” and watched as the boxes were opened.

Inside the deep black boxes was an interior lined in blood red silk, in which rested a pair (one in each box) of matched kut’luch, Klingon double-bladed daggers typically used by assassins.

“These were taken off the fallen house’s Sergeant-At-Arms. He had fallen on the floor of the Council chamber. He was apparently allergic to being stabbed… a lot.” and Urg leaned back in his seat. “Look underneath. You will find two missives written in the same hand. They order the death of two interfering targs on Oed V. They mention each of you by name.” an he looked at the reaction of the two men.
