The Sparrow was not a huge starship so getting to the engine area was not a big endeavor. However Longstreet was more interested in where he could wander before someone stopped him. Because at that point he would know where Conrad considered an important zone and where he was not worried about. Conrad was a suspicious character with a lot of things going on. Longstreet just wanted to be aware of some of them. Apollonia, as usual, was along for the ride to see what she could get out of it. A new contact, something to steal?

Longstreet

Suddenly, almost as if out of nowhere, a tall blonde woman arrived at the engineering section and looked right at Longstreet and Apollonia. She gave a grin that did not reach her eyes and moved towards them. “Mr. Longstreet, you seem to have strayed from the congregation. I can lead you back if you like?” she stated, curiousity in her eyes.

-Katrina

Longstreet and Apollonia moved slightly back from surprise but regained themselves quickly.

“Well your lovely. Hostess of the ship?” Apollonia said gaining her composure quickly and flashing a disarming and sexy smile.

Longstreet said nothing at the moment. He knew Apollonia had just placed the tall blond in the position of identifying herself since she obviously knew who they were.

Longstreet and Apollonia

At the sound of Katrina’s voice, a head popped up about ten feet away. “Oh, sorry… didn’t hear you come up…” The engineer had a smile on his face and, seeing Katina, assumed they had come as a group. “What can I do for you?” The engineer smiled and wiped his hands, a small smudge on his cheek noted where he had been leaning on the deck or some other grimy piece of equipment.

“Problems in the engine room. I hope not. I heard the old girl can make the Kessell Run in 12 parsecs. What do you have in there?” Longstreet asked as jolly as possible.

Longstreet

Even Apollonia had no idea what Longstreet was referring to but she did like to see the deceptive side of him come out every now and then. The truth was that she had not planned to stay on Oed and in fact was there only for the protection she could get from knowing Longstreet. However her love for him was rekindled and even more so. She would never give up her ways but she was feeling something she had told herself she could not feel.

Putting her attention to the the engineer she willed a unhealthy dose of pheromones’ to be released and touched his shoulder.

“Oh honey please show us the big old engines.” She purred.

If the man had never been hit with the best efforts of an Orion sex slave he was going to wilt like a flower in a Vulcan sun.

Apollonia

“No, Sir. Nothing wrong. Usual checks ‘n balances is all.” He smiled at the pair and nodded to Katrina. He’d gotten used to the rather stoic woman and wasn’t surprised she wasn’t warm and cordial like the others. He still found her to be amazing and had planned when meeting her the first time, to be the one who figured out how to make her smile and warm up.

But then the other woman looked at him and Katrina flew from his mind like it was sucked clean by a black hole. He felt his body warm and become almost pliant. “Umm… of course, M’Lady. Anything for you.” He actually took a step forward and offered the crook of his arm to escort her. Even the man at her side was forgotten. “Anyone tell you you are more beautiful than the Medusa Nebula?” He flashed his most dashing smile as he hit on her.

Engin.. umm.. something or other “Hi gorgeous!”

Katrina raised her eyebrows. The true heart of Katrina lie in the computer systems of the Black Sparrow. While she could appear to be sentient via holographic projection, she in truth could open and close doors at will, turn on and off the engines, and blast a hole right into space if she truly felt like it.

“Mr. Burgess, you are not well. Please see yourself to sickbay.” She then turned to Apollonia and Longstreet. “I will respectfully request that you both make your way back to central guest hub. From there you will receive your quarters designation for the trip and be allowed to tour elsewhere at your pleasure. I can lead you there if you like.” She offered a grin, but it was clear she was not totally pleased with what was going on.

-Katrina

Apollonia smiled politely, gave a girlish wave to the engineer, and nodded her understanding to the woman. She had “infected” the engineer. He was hers to manipulate at a later time. Women were much more dangerous. IF she had any attachment to this man she could overpower even the strongest Orion influence to preserve that natural instinct. Which was “if its mine its mine and stay away”. She dialed it back.

Longstreet for his part was as cordial.

“Just exploring ma’am. Can’t fault us for being interested can you?” He said.

As they turned and walked away he knew there were things to investigate on the ship. If the engines were not possible well then he would keep looking. It was a once in a lifetime shot at Conrad and he would take it. He looked over at Apollonia and knew her mind was spinning but probably for far less noble reasons than his.

Apollonia and Longstreet

Burgess smiled and waved to the young woman, and slowly turned towards Katrina as if in a dream like state. “I… umm… yes Ma’am.” His look of pure confusion was evident as he looked around like he was trying to figure out where he was. Shrugging when he couldn’t remember what he had been doing, he moved away from the group the opposite direction to go to medical. But for the life of him, he wasn’t sure why.
