OOC: Snipping some OOC, by the way, I have an idea. If Longstreet is looking for information, he could have asked the waitress collect information and spy on their conversation. This way, he has something to compare to what Valkris might tell him later. What do you think?
-Janice B.

OOC: Sound good to me. Thoughts, Sid?

IC: Dawson smiled at the waitress. “I’ll have eggs over easy, and a side of bacon.”

After the waitress had left to take get their orders going, Dawson leaned in. “We do have an advantage here…I actually know her personally. If I can convince her that it’s better to just share the intel with me, she’ll do it. That’s where you come in. It might be wise to think of it as ‘good cop, bad cop’ if you catch my meaning?”

He paused, curious to her answer, and secretly craving the breakfast he had just ordered.

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

The female nodded. She took down the orders then twisted about, moving to a new table. Valkris’ attention lingered on the waitress until Dawson talked. Her eyes shifted back to him as continued laying out the advantage. At the mention of his statement, she frowned and leaned back.

Of all the plans you concocted, you came up with a trope? The thought ruffled through her before she inhaled.

“I do, but can’t say I think highly of the trope.” She stated.

“My concern is how do I play the bad cop even to be convincing? If I am not a threat, which from the sounds of it won’t be easy, she won’t have much reason to give you what you want.” Valkris doubted it would be easy to trick this woman with everything that Dawson had pointed out.

Dawson smiled. “Oh, I won’t be convincing her through persuasion. I’m going to be the bad cop. It will be you who will need to calm the situation when it arises. There could very well come a point when you will need to defend her. Sure she’s smart, but when she’s cornered, she’ll squeek. Especially if someone seeks out her own betterment. Give her something to gain. Her life and freedom may be good enough. Thoughts?”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

“It sounds easy, but I feel it will be more complicated than that. How are we going to keep this from feeling like a setup or her going to someone else to fix this? Considering you know her well enough, the odds are in favor she has people to handle this stuff.” Valkris pointed out, her habit of poking what-if holes in full swing.

She didn’t even decide to touch on the point of how this woman would know to contact her instead of someone else. That fact alone screamed set up and would blow any case in her mind.

OOC: Accidently added a part that wasn’t needed, had a duh moment. Small edit.
-Janice B.

He leaned back with a grin plastered to his face. “That’s why I don’t plan to give her any time to get a hold of anyone. We take this cruise to a system that I believe she’s located in. The ship should be making a few stops, one of them being an old trading post. I believe she’s holed herself there, out of the way. All we need to do is go in, find her quickly, and confront her. My hope is that once this all happens, your sense of honor and duty will arise and take action. She’ll have no choice but to accept your help. Maybe she’ll be more open to sharing information then.”

Dawson then leaned forward, considering her. “Do you have suggestions perhaps? I’m open to thoughts and changes if you believe something will work better.”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

Valkris sat there, absorbing the plan in its entirety. It had its flaws like any other plan, but she couldn’t come up with better options. She leaned back to sip her drink then commented on the last thing they needed to cover.

“I can’t come up with anything better.” Her fingers slid back the image of the woman to the man.

“Do we have a way out if things crumble? Or is this something that spells trouble if it does?” She suspected it would be the later. This put increased pressure on things going exactly as planned and without issues.

By this time, the woman came sauntering back with their orders in hand. She listed them off as she set each plate down in front of the owner.

“Is there anything else I can get you?” She asked in a polite fashion.

“No,” Valkris answered for herself.

Dawson shook his head to the woman, allowing her to leave.

Once she was out of earshot, he then spoke more to Valkris. “Nothing definite. I don’t suspect she would put much risk in front of people on a cruise, which will help us ultimately to escape if we can get back to them. I figured we would see how it things go. Pay attention to surroundings and such. I’m able to commandeer a vehicle if need be. And I don’t necessarily need a weapon either.” After his final sentence he flexed his hands for emphasis.

“Risky, yes, but your help might prove to be exceptionally useful,” he added. “What do you think?”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

“I can’t say I’m the most comfortable with it, but you can count me in. I might be able to control some of the consequences. It is no worse than the smuggler experience.” Valkris stated as she began to dig into her food.

She slurped up some of the long, worm-like creatures in her side dish. They slipped down easily causing her gut to glow. Wiping her mouth in order to speak, she tried to recall something.

Dawson watched with an amused look. He was no fan of the dish, but found it interesting that klingons were so into it. A statement of the culture for sure. Regardless of their dieting habits, Dawson knew he could still go toe to toe with a klingon anyday.

“I don’t think we established what time you will need me to be ready, did we?”

OOC I guess, one more bump. >.<
-Janice B.

He gave a light chuckle as he leaned back. “The Black Sparrow leaves tomorrow morning. Feel free to pack what you like, but try your best to keep weapons concealed.
I’ll see if I can sneak something for us aboard. If it’s confiscated, oh well. We can get them back afterwards. Think you can manage?” he inquired before taking a bit of his own breakfast.

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

“If I just bring one, it shouldn’t be an issue. I have a blade I could easily hide and Klingons tend to travel armed anyways.” Valkris stated, her words noted her proud hertiage.

She had about a quarter of her meal done by the time she answered. After a sip of her drink, she then commented on his look earlier.

“Not a fan of Klingon food? It’s all right, not many are.”

–Ensign Valkris MacLaren, Sec

OOC: Btw, after this will there be a new thread started, or are we shifting to another thread?
