Urg nodded and said “Done. Let’s clear these tunnels and then see what we have to work with. That work for you?” he asked the Head of Mining.

Urg, Lord Duroc

Brianna laughed and inclined her head respectfully. “I couldn’t have said it better myself, Lord Duroc.” She glanced around at the bodies and frowned. “I’ll get a team from the dome to come clean up this mess. I am sure security will want a heads up of the activity that was going on here. Perhaps letting the other mines know to check their ‘back doors’ might be a good idea as well. I would find it hard to believe this was their only stash here.”

She gathered up enough of the stones to be sure she had an adequate sample for her own studies and then made sure the rest were closed up. She’ll have to be sure the crates were sent to her storage bay. She would definitely need to be sure the Federation was aware of what was going on, as well. Chances are this wasn’t the only planet it was happening on, either.

She helped them clean up and seal this end of the caves from others sneaking in then they headed back the way they had come down. As small groups broke up to explore little branches along the way, Bri stopped now and then to pick up a rock here, a stone there. Various samples went in her pouch as she followed Urg back to the entrance.

Urg simply nodded as she spoke and when she began to collect her samples, he sent a guard with her. As they made their way out, he looked at K’letn and she simply nodded and turned and walked away. Urg looked at Brianna and said “I am going to stay here for a while longer. If you wish to go back to tell the authorities at Oed about this, do so. I will make sure the guards know to expect them.”

Brianna smiled, her hand rising to touch his arm before dropping it, realizing what she had done. “Thank you, Urg. I honestly do appreciate all you have done, are doing,” she smiled broader, “and probably will do. And I mean that.” She nodded once more and headed off to her ship. Authorities certainly needed to know about this and she didn’t trust the comms as far as she could throw the small runabout.

Urg watched as she left. As soon as the engines powered up on her shuttle, Urg looked at K’letn and said “Do it now. I don’t trust anyone from that place except Karlson, so let’s get everything out before anyone else comes back.” K’letn nodded and in less than two minutes the tunnels were a swarmnof activity as multiple teams began taking off down every passage.
The tunnels were huge, but with enough man-power anything is possible. In just over two hours Urg was told that his engineers estimated they had mapped and cleared about 80% of the tunnel complex. More caches had been discovered, but no Romulans. All of the crates had been packaged and moved to the Klingon vessel. They wwre scanned for traps and such, but would remain sealed and under guard till Urg said otherwise.

Looking at K’letn, Urg said “We should get ready for our visitors.”

Maybe three hours later, Brianna’s voice would be heard asking to land once more. Once settled, she came in and looked for Urg. She had her mineralogists looking into the samples she had gotten from the crates. With luck, she could figure out what section of the galaxy they came from. As to the samples from the tunnels, she had learned they were definitely worth mining and had her own team sending out feelers for those who may pay handsomely for what she could exhume from here.

She glanced around at the tables near the entrance. Something was different. The samples, once all strewn on the table, were in trays, labeled and ready for packing. She looked at K’letn and Urg. “You guys have been busy. Anything else I need to know about that you found?” She had no idea other stashes had been found or that anything other than sample gathering had been done. She was still impressed with what she could see ‘had’ been done.

Urg and K’letn shared a glance and then Urg said “Only enough that we have decided House Duroc will like to stake a formal claim. We will, of course, pay whatever fees and permitting you require. And of our unwelcome guest, there is nothing more that we have found yet.”
