The comms in the Lieutenant Governor’s reception area activated with an incoming call. =/\= Oed V, this is the IKS Kavar’ton. Lord Urg’tohn of House Duroc requests a meeting with your Lieutenant Governor and Head of Mining Operations. =/\=

Oddly, the being making the request was not a Klingon. The viewer showed, of all things, an Andorian dressed in Klingon armor with a House seal emblazoned on the chest.

Urg’tohn, Lord Duroc

A female voice, professional and sharp, came back in reply. =^=Acknowledged, IKS Kavar’ton, The Lieutenant Governor has been informed. You will receive a reply before end of business today.=^=

The Lt Gov would get a missive on his console about the requested meeting and the details the communications officer had received.

The com was transferred directly to Xavier who was to say the least perplexed but did not show that he was.

=IKS Kavar’ton this is Lt. Governor Xavier. I agree to the meeting on the terms that it is held on the USS Centurion and in orbit. Your cruiser can be in orbit with us at the same time.=

Xavier was not about to meet anywhere with an Andorian pretending to be a Klingon but in a setting he chose and controlled. If the Klingons had something u their sleeve they would be taking on the Centurion to do it.

Xavier

There was a sound from behind the Andorian and then a large hand grabbed the blue-skinned figure and shoved him out of the way.

Appearing on the screen was a truly massive example of the Klingon species. A long braid of black hair fell across one shoulder, bits of metal… and maybe bone?… woven into the strands of hair. A deep rumble of a voice rolled through the comms and the figure said “No no no no no… I am so sick of starships I could spit. Pick a bar somewhere. Or maybe Karlson will host at the Hotel? Yeah! Thats even better! Ask Karlson, I’m sure he’d be happy to help out with arraignments. Just tell him I asked. We go back.” and the Klingon laughed loudly. “Tell him I won’t throw any severed heads on the table this time, either! You all bring the food, I’ll bring the booze. See ya there, Gov!” and he howled in laughter as he turned and walked off.

The Andorian appeared again and found his seat. Taking a deep breath, he looked at the Lieutenant Governor and said “Sir. Urg’tohn, Lord of House Duroc and Chosen of the Builder Kaavar’ton, will await your invitation. The customary diplomatic adornments for a visiting High Council member are not required. Thanks you, Lieutenat Governor Xavier. House Duroc looks forward to meeting you in person.” and the comms went dark.

Urg’tohn, Lord Duroc, Chosen of the Builder

The truth was the Lt. Governor was not unaccustomed to Klingon rudeness and disdain for not setting the agenda. They had to be the alphas no matter if it was truly the case or not. He just wanted the person behind the Andorian to step forward. It was usual Klingon back and forth. If he had seen weak and not made a demand then the Klingon would be intolerant of the show of weakness. The Klingon had give him the courtesy of speaking for himself and acknowledging in his own way that Xavier had acted strong and honorable. He had offered in his own way an alternative that allowed him to still look strong and Xavier to have the assurance of a safe place to meet. It was possibly one of the best show of a parley in Federation history, aside from the then First Officer Riker’s famous service aboard the Pagh.

Xavier confirmed his attendance and sent a message back that he would contact Karlson. Truth be known he did not know the Chief’s brother well but he would contact the Chief of Police and have him set it up and attend as well. Keeping a Klingon off guard was a good thing and the presence of OED’s chief of police would do that. They would think Longstreet might come with his boss but would not think the other Karlson would be there.

He sent a message to Karlson before he left the office.
