Her expression didn’t change, however, her tone was a tad colder than it was when dealing with the guests, “What is your business here?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Roze (Maid) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The young man replied to the maid, unphased by her tone of voice. “I have message for a Miss Shari Binns? Is she here?” He kept his mind carefully guarded, though he did notice the familiar presence of the woman with high psionic abilities. Leamas remembered fighting her to test her limits. He knew he wouldn’t win, but sometimes a losing battle was worth the information to win the war. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Leamas : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : There was a moment as Roze looked him over. All of her instincts were telling her that he was dangerous. For a moment, she felt her stability slipping, but immediately centred herself around thoughts of Stephen before her emotions could get out of control. She looked at the man, “One moment please.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Closing the door, Roze took a moment to take a few deep breaths. As she approached the kitchen, Shari walked out. Seeing the look on Roze’s face, Shari hurried over, “What is the matter Roze?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “There is someone here with a message for you. However, I would suggest caution.” This made Shari pause. Roze had always been a good judge in character, and her suggestions were not to be taken lightly. However, if she did not deal with this now, there could be trouble later. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The door was opened again, revealing Shari, “Yes, can I be of assistance?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Shari Binns : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Rousseau, HotJ : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Governor Michael Halloway : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The young man spoke up again. “Yes, I’m here for a Ms. Shari Binns? I have a private message for her. Are you, she?” he stated, knowing full well it was her. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Leamas : : : : : : : : : : : : Shari nodded, “Yes, I am Shari Binns.” At face value, this man did not seem as dangerous as Roze made him seem. However, the words that were said came back to her. Hopefully things would not get too out of hand this evening. : : : : : : : : : : : : Shari Binns : : : : : : : : : : He gave her a smile. “Is there someone we may speak privately? I was assured that the message required a sense of discretion,” said the young man, hoping she would catch his drift. “I see you have many guests. Perhaps a room away from prying ears?” he inquired. : : : : : : : : : : -Leamas : : : : : : Shari shrugged, “It is rather hard to find one of those in a house such as this,” She then touched a button on the side of the wall and gestured to some chairs just to the side of the entryway, “However, I have just activated a sound dampening field. No one should be able to hear us unless our voices get too loud.” : : : : : : Shari Binns : : : : OOC: We can likely split the thread if you like. :) I don’t want to take over the thread for my PRSIM. Just wanted to kind add some fluff for background. But, this we can split off. : : : : IC: The young man entered with a grin. Leamas was never fully trusting of anyone, however when he could sense that she legitimately believed the system she had in place was set, he let his guard down. : : : : What was once a young voice, now sounded rather masculine as his voce deepened significantly. “Shari Binns. I have long awaited this moment. You seem to have quite a hold here on the people of Oed.” he paused, reading her surface thoughts and gauging what sort of reactions she would have. : : : : -Leamas : : Having does this for so long, Shari was able to hold a straight face throughout his entire statement. She was rather intrigued by what this man had said, but decided to play it safe, “I would not say that. I am not really anyone important. If you are looking to get me to convince my husband of something, I should inform you that he does not take bribes.” : : Shari Binns : Leamas took a step closer to her, eyes centered on her own. “You are lying to me,” he said in his deep yet subdued voice. “The business we share is competitive. Before deciding what I wish to do about my competition, I wish to know the one in charge of it.” Leamas left it at that, curious as to how she would respond to him. : -Leamas

:There was a smirk from Shari, “I participated in a competition once before, it was to see how long we could survive as children.” She leaned back in her chair, “As for business, I do not know what you are speaking about. I have quite a few investments, so you will have to be more specific.”
Shari Binns

“I do not care about financial affairs of you people,” he said, eyes locked on her own, unwavering in any way. “You are in the business of…influencing…influencing people to commit to your goals. By whatever means necessary. You’re people seem to be interfering with my own. It would be a shame to find an all out war break out on Oed V over some minor inconveniences. It may also be a shame to see what loss it would create.” Was it a threat? A thought of the future? Or just misinformation?

Leamas played his card. It was now Shari’s turn to play hers.

Shari smiled, showing her white teeth, “You know, I have heard that speech so many times before, and after awhile, it loses some of it’s impact. I have been in this business since I was young, and know exactly what happens when two opposing forces meet. The stronger overwhelms the weaker.” She picked up a padd lying on the glass table next to her, glancing at the story on the mansion break in, “And if your minions are all as competent as these two, then I have nothing to worry about.”

She placed the padd down, the grin on her mouth disappearing, “However, I feel that I must give you a chance at this game, so I will give you one word of advice, Don’t. Touch. Stephen.” Her eyes were cold and calculating, “I would like to say that I have been there to stop every attempt on him, but that would not be the case. However, the last person to get even close to him was found in an alley with all of the pigment in his body gone, scared to death. He has a guardian angel, and I would hate to see our little game ruined by a little stupidity on your end.”

Leamas smirked. “Its always a good thing to protect that which you love. Its the reason we fight, Shari Binns. The problem with that however, is that love does make us weaker in some areas. I would venture to guess that you have no idea what weakness I bare.” He paused, knowing that what he care for was no where near Oed. Quite the opposite, he needed to get home to reclaim it. But nobody on Oed was aware of that just yet.

“These ‘minions’ you speak of are nothing more than simple sheep here on Oed to do as I say. Did you think that I meant for them to not get caught?” He raised a curious eyebrow. Leamas knew he was steps ahead of most. The primitive people of this planet couldn’t even sense thoughts. Though…he did remember one instance in which he was proven wrong. But he had plans for her–the woman Ylana Eviros. All in due time. He still hade more people to see.

There was a shrug from Shari, “If you wanted to sow fear and confusion, there are better candidates than those two.”

While she made her reply or not, he paced, allowing his mind to expand to her thoughts and the surface thoughts of those who were in the other room, including the woman who answered the door to start with. Perhaps a little show of his minor capabilities would prove needed?

While Stephen’s mind was almost entirely open, thinking of how lovely it was that the evening was going, Roze’s was completely different. To Leamas, it was as if he was staring at a nebula, huge and impossible to see within. No matter what he did, none of his probes could enter the cloud. However, it seemed as though the nebula was aware of his presence, as the longer he probed, the more it started to shift.
