The IKS Kavaar’ton was massive, even for the Negh’Var platform it was built on. Almost seven hundred meters long… almost five hundred wide at it widest point… over a hundred and thirty meters tall divided into a full forty decks. Painted black and red, it was menacing as it drifted high above Oed V.

“I am expecting guests. They are honored by our House and will be shown such courtesy. Am I understood?” Urg shouted across the large bridge. No one spoke back, but a simultaneous slamming of fists to chest indicated he had been heard. Sitting in the Command chair, he nodded in satisfaction.

Below, Urg’s personal transport settled down on the deck plating of the Oed docks. The hatch opened, and two large Klingons stepped out and flanked the door. From the inside, a female Klingon stepped out and looked around, then waited.

Urg, Lord Duroc

Xavier had to admit he was slightly excited to be going on one of the most impressive and deadliest ships ever designed by the Klingons. He had Longstreet with him just to be safe and Longstreet as well wanted to see the operations of a Klingon ship like this. With the governors seat open again recently Xavier had already approved the mine and the stationing of the IKS Kavaar’ton at Oed. He had gotten the approval of SF and the Federation to allow a small and not overly extravagant embassy for Urg on Oed. He was going on board for the reason of informing Urg of those decisions and to see the ship. The orbital station called the IKS Kavaar’ton and asked if they preferred the Captain and Commander beamed on or could they dock. It was possibly impossible for docking to occur with the size of the vessel but the officer on deck made the request anyway.

Xavier and Longstreet

The response from the Kavaar’ton was brusque at first, but the sound of a loud smack ended the original Klingon voice and a much more pleasant, feminine, and decidedly non-Klingon voice informed the orbital station that Lord Duroc’s personal transport had been made available for the trip to the ship, and was currently at the Oed docks. =/\= If other arraignments have been made to accommodate the Lieutenant Governor’s schedule, Lord Duroc understands and the dignitaries are welcome to beam aboard if they prefer. Lord Duroc was simply wishing for them to view the exterior of our vessel as well. =/\=

IKS Kavaar’ton

Xavier informed the Kavaar’ton that he would take the personal transport that was being offered and that he would have Lt. Cmd Longstreet with him. He then went to the dockw here the transport was at and requested to board.

Xavier Lt. Gov

The female Klingon Smiled as the duo approached. “Lieutenant Governor. Lieutenant Commander Longstreet. I am K’letn, Lord Duroc’s mate. The Lord has directed me to bring you to the Kavaar’ton.” and she looked past them for a second. “Is Commissioner Karlson not joining you? Or should I make arrangements for him separately?”

K’letn, House Duroc

“Lady K’letn. A pleasure.” Xavier said. “As for the Chief I have no idea. We can wait a few minutes if you like to see if he arrives.”

Xavier had a guilty pleasure he had never admitted. He found Klingon women rather attractive.

Xavier Lt. Gov

This particular one definitely triggered that particular proclivity. Tall, broad shouldered, and well-muscled; K’letn carried herself with both confidence and a grace that set her apart form many Klingon women.

Longstreet smiled but followed the lead of his boss. He hoped Karlson made it. He rather liked the Chief even if in the past they had butted heads here and there.

“Apologies for our tardiness” The familiar voice of the Chief of Police came from behind them. He was walking with his wife, the tall Trill woman they knew as Neema. She smiled at the two men “It’s my fault, I was delayed at the hospital, the surgery went on longer than I thought” She said as the pair stopped next to the two Starfleet officers “Captain” Joseph gave the lieutenant Governor a nod “Preston, it’s been a while” He said extending a hand to the Security Chief

After shaking Longstreet’s hand Joseph turned to the Klingon woman “Lady K’letn, a pleasure as always, you remember my Wife, Neema Lar” Neema inclined her head “I have to say it will be nice to board a Klingon warship without armour and a dozen marines” He gave Longstreet a wink “Are we ready?”

Commissioner Karlson & Neema Lar

K’letn smiled formally and said “This way, please.” and beckoned them into the transport. As the Lieutenant Governor and Longstreet moved in, K’letn moved towards the remainder of the party and shook Karlson and Neema’s hands. “Very good to see you both again.” she said with a polite yet friendly smile. Turning and stepping back towards the front of the craft she said “Please be seated.” and set herself in the pilot’s chair.

The craft was large, as it would have to be to accomodate Klingons, but it was comfortable. Looking around, it was certainly designed for long stays. The seats reclined slightly, and a doorway to the aft section closed off the front third of the vessel from the rest. The vessel powered up and slowly rotated and then moved forward through the dock’s force field and began the climb to the Kavaar’ton, in orbit high above the planet.

As the transport came near, K’letn made a few passes around, under, and over the gigantic vessel. (Repeating the description form above, with additions):
Almost seven hundred meters long… almost five hundred wide at it widest point… over a hundred and thirty meters tall divided into a full forty decks. Painted black and red, it was menacing as it drifted high above Oed V. The Kavaar’ton bristled with weaponry, most prominent being the two giant disrupter pods slung under the pylons the warp nacelles were attached to; and the large torpedo tubes fore and aft. As the transport began it’s approach into one of the two visible bays, a contingent of armoured figures could be seen lining up on either side of the bay.

Longstreet gave a low whistle.

“You have to give it to the Klingons for intimidation. They know how to do it. A beauty in that minimalistic big as a boulder manner.”

“That they do” Joseph said in agreement as he admired the gigantic vessel.

As the transport settled down on the deck, the figures could be seen clearly. Made up mostly, but not exclusively, of Klingons; there were also Andorians, Humans, Bajorans, Orions… there were even two Cardassians and a trio of Naussicans amongst the varied races represented. All were dressed in identical armor with the House Duroc crest on the left shoulder; and all had a dark purple hand-print shaped stain on the left side of their face. As the hatch opened, all the figures came to attention and slammed their right fist on the house crest simultaneously. At the head of the two rows loomed the giant figure of the Lord of House Duroc.

“Well met, my friends!” he roared and smiled the predatory smile that made most civilized people cringe as he walked towards them, reaching the group and shaking Xavier and Longstreet’s hands and then hugging Karlson and (much more gently), Neema. “Welcome aboard! Please, come.. come. I have much I want to show you.” and he turned and began leading them from the bay.

Xavier and Longstreet shook the hand and felt like their arms were being pulled out of the socket. Xavier looked around/ He liked the spartan way the Klingons designed their ships. Many were too cramped but he figured a ship this size would have a little more elbow room.

Joseph reciprocated the hug with a powerful backslap. Although Neema was a tall woman for a Trill she was still dwarfed by the Klingon, almost a third his width. “I am very excited to see the ship” She said in an earnest tone “I haven’t been onboard a Klingon ship since the D7 was the standard” She said looking around.

“I would love to see the Bridge Urg.” Xavier said.

“I can only imagine the Brig. Love to see that.” Longstreet added.

OOC: You have any online pics that come close? I would love to see something.

OOC: This should give you a good idea.

Urg began leading the ‘tour’ through the ship. It was truly massive and built with the aggressiveness and intimidation Klingon ships were known for, but there was something else. An elegance… or maybe an efficiency was a better term… for the way things were laid out. There was something about this vessel that was unlike other Klingon ships. While wholly imposing and menacing… it had a grace to it. And the difference didn’t stop at the architecture.

As the group went through the passageways, the crew was wholly and completely different from the typical Klingon battleship. Klingons were the majority… but only slightly. Humans, Andorians, Orions, Naussicans, Vulcans, Gorn, Bajorans, Ferengi, Cardassians, Romulans… even a Breen was seen… and more were walking the hallways or guarding certain areas. Species who were enemies everywhere else in the galaxy were here, on this ship, walking together and working side by side. All of them wearing the symbol of House Duroc in some form or fashion.

As they walked, most of the crew pounded a fist against their chest at Urg’s approach, but some simply nodded; and gesture returned by the large Klingon Lord.

Urg took them through the entire ship. Even areas that would normally be off limits to ‘outsiders’ or foreign governments were opened for the group to see and comment on.

Finally, the boarded a large turbolift and found themselves on the bridge. The room was massive and, most unexpectedly, laid out more like a Star Fleet vessel than the normally cramped and dark Klingon bridge design. The central dais of the command chair remained, but it was set back and above the rest of the stations. Tactical, Engineering, and Operations stations were to be expected of course; but there were also prominent communications and sensor operations stations. Perhaps most surprisingly, though, was the person who stepped down from the Command chair when the group arrived.

It was a human female, probably no more than sixteen or seventeen years old. She placed her fist on her heart and said “My Lord. All systems operational. Shuttles are secured and being prepped for when your guests wish to leave. Dinner is being prepared and will ready at your request.” Urg smiled down at her and said “My thanks, Commander. Please join us for the feast.” The girl simply nodded once, looked at the assembled guests, and walked away. Urg looked at everyone and said “GO! Look! Ask questions.”

Urg’tohn, Son of the Builder, Lord Duroc

Joseph and Neema shared a knowing look “Well until now I was going to ask about the clearly un-Klingon crew, it feels more like a federation vessel than it does a Klingon one. But right now my main quest is regarding your young Commander” Joseph looked at the young girl “I have grandchildren older than you my dear.” He said to her directly, he didn’t want to dishonour her by speaking about her right in front of her, he understood Klingon customs well enough “How old is she, and how come she is in your service” He asked Urg. He knew that his position within the Duroc family allowed him the leeway to ask such questions without being too confrontational.
