[snip] >>>Sin tapped the send button on the communicator. “We haven’t run into any actual danger yet. We’ve followed a slimy trail to a large container that has been broken open, a second container, that is. I think you’d better send someone in with a weapon in case the life form it contains is dangerous. We haven’t encountered anyone of the crew yet but we’ll keep looking.”

—Nyx

Mary leaned her back against the makeshift tunnel as she let out a soft breath. She shook her head when Nyx finished addressing Chip.

“I don’t own one. There’s not much use for it when you’re working a small holo-novel shop. Most of the time I just help the elderly seek out stories for their grandchildren. I know my way around a datapad better than a phaser.” She answered honestly.

Nyx nodded at the woman. In truth, she had several weapons on her person, but they were inside the EVA suit which meant they were useless for the moment. Silently, she cursed herself for not thinking to bring one with her that she could actually use.

Chip listened carefully. He dared to his assistance who shrugged, the mention of life form obvious unknown to him. The older man glared at the ship as if it would spill its secrets only to return to the communicator.

=^= It appears this ship was smuggling something and we’re not sure what’s in there. If things start looking dangerous, get out. Do you understand me?=^= Chip sounded like he wanted them to pull back, but his units were small and stretched now. These volunteers were the best chance he had to obtain more information.

Once more, Sin pushed the button to open the channel with Chip. “I understand, but we aren’t ready to give up just yet. We’ll keep you posted. If you don’t hear from our party in the next 15 minutes, send someone in after us—and let the Governor know!”

Looking at the rest of her team, she said. “Okay, you heard that. They were smuggling something—an unknown. Do you want to keep going or do you want to back out while we still can?”

—Nyx

=^= All right will do. Try not to get yourselves killed. Keep me updated on your progress.=^= Chip’s tone hinted at acceptance about her decision as he began to prepare an emergency response team.

“I-I don’t know. The ship doesn’t look very structurally sound or safe deep in. However, I’m curious about what caused the ship to crash and what it was carrying.” Mary took a moment to breathe then added, “I don’t feel all right leaving any one alone in here and I will accompany anyone staying.”

Mary was firm in her decision, even confident for the first time during the search.

-Janice B.

“I am also curious what caused the crash and what it was carrying to create this slime, I’ll follow you.” Issac responded.

“I think we’re all in agreement. Lead the way.” Mary stated, reaffirming the fact no one was leaving.

-Janice B.

“Alright then…” (OOC: I’m not sure how to proceed. Do we have to crawl?)

She moved forward to explore deeper into the ship. “I think we should leave that barrel alone for the moment. It might not contain anything harmful, but it might, and it doesn’t look like any of us are prepared for that. Let’s just keep heading in and see if we find any survivors. Sound alright to the two of you?”

—Nyx

OOC: As I mentioned prior, I’m able to work with what you give me. This is considered a small detail and I build upon what you give me. For example, that barrel gave me an idea. >3

IC: Mary nodded and took note of the barrel. It didn’t have specialized markings, but the worn outside and dents threatened to spill its contents. She didn’t want to see what harmful things were in there.

As they pushed onward, she held her breath as they moved past it. She pressed against the opposite side to avoid touching or even being close to the thing. She watched where her feet stepped in order to avoid tripping. Once past it, she exhaled in relief. The back of the cargo wasn’t nearly as clustered with fallen ship pieces or cargo as the corridor leading in.

“That was easy…” Mary’s words were short-lived.

The barrel ruptured and crumbled causing the tunnel to collapse in on itself. Dust and things leaped out at them before it all finally settled. Their way out was officially blocked.

-Janice B.

“Is everyone alright?” Issac asked after shielding himself from the blast of the barrel. “We are blocked from going any further, it looks like.” He continued talking as he looked for a new path or if the rubble was movable.

Sinayda took quick stock of herself after the collapse. “I’m fine, but we can’t go back the way we came now as its blocked. I guess there’s no other choice but to head further in. She looked down the corridor. “I guess we go this way.”

—Nyx

If Issac attempted to test some of the debris, it shifted and crumbled down farther. It was clear that going back was not possible without additional risk. Most of the twisted metal and debris were tangled in place.

Mary had landed on her rump as she tried to avoid the collapse. Aside from her tender backside, she looked at herself and found she was unharmed. A breath of relief escaped her lips.

“I think I’m all right. Nothing feels broken save my pride.” She dusted off the back of her pants to hide where she landed.

“If we follow the corridor, we should find the slime trail again. Right? I’m ready, but we should be really be careful in case something else crashes down.” She rubbed her wrist a bit, feeling tenderness in it. Mary suspected she pulled it, but didn’t want to say anything or let the others down.

-Janice B.
OOC: Another small bump just to keep it on the board. If you guys need more or something else, let me know. I failed my mindreading examination, joke.
-Janice B.

They continued on. Wondering about the air quality inside the ship, Nyx looked at a monitor on her wrist and dialed up the atmospheric readings. (?) If the quality was alright and they got to a place that was sealed against the outside forces of the planet, they’d be able to take off their helmets at least. What they actually needed to find was the control room or bridge. With any luck they’d be able to bring up the ship’s logs and find out what happened to bring it crashing down on OED.

—Nyx

The reading on the monitor revealed high amounts of carbon monoxide and other chemicals in the air. With no power in the ship, the filtration system wasn’t purifying the environment. It was dangerous to be without a helmet for very long. Along the wall, dark letters were etched across the charred walls. It spelt out a single word: Bridge. Underneath an arrow pointed to the right and a long hallway. At the end, a closed door greeted them.

It was obviously the bridge and air tight. The fire appeared to have not gotten to this section of the ship yet.

-Janice B.

OOC: Small bump. If you all need more, you got to let me know. I thrive on feedback and stuff which helps me make this story better.
