Nicholas sat in his office and considered what he was doing one final time. It was not what anyone might advise. It was certainly not the wisest course of action. But it was entirely possible that it was the best available course of action. He had been trained to think and behave a certain way, that mold was already broken. If anyone not a friend found out… He wasn’t sure what would happen. But he knew he couldn’t continue circulating if he was no longer viable in his role. Maybe that’s only what he had been led to believe. Either way, he had no intention of finding out the hard way.Nicholas left and strolled down the winding path to the Governor’s Office. Hyrushi’s assistant was out. Probably for the best. He approached the office door… and he knocked.

The doors swung open silently and Hyrushi stood just past them. A slight bow was the only greeting, and he motioned for the Intelligence Officer to follow him.
Nicholas returned the bow and followed wordlessly.
Kenzo indicated a chair in front of his desk and took a seat. “Commander. I trust you are well?” he said finally, and slid a micro-PaDD across the desk towards him.
Nicholas sat across from Kenzo. “I’m alright. And yourself?”
“A gift… for a friend.” and he inclined his head slightly to the device.
Hyrushi, Governor
Nicholas smiled, ever so slightly. He took the PaDD offered and examined its contents. His smile grew. “Interesting. Very interesting.”

“She has extensive experience dealing with your particular dilemma. She also has little love for your current superiors due to their actions in the past. Intermediaries have laid out the Introductions. All that is left is to take a month or so off and a somewhat lengthy trip. When you return from your… um… vacation… Im sure we will have much to discuss.” A soft gong sounded and a young Bolian woman came in carrying a tray with tea on it. She set a cup in front of each man and the pot in the middle. Wordlessly, she turned and left.
“So? Do you have the time available? She is most interested to get started as soon as you can.”
Hyrushi, Governor
Nicholas nodded. “As far as Starfleet is concerned, I’m sure I have accumulated leave over the course of my career. With the others, what I do is my business. Unless they issue a specific time sensitive directive, they’ll assume I’m doing my job. That’s just the nature of it.” He sipped the tea put in front of him. “I can leave tomorrow.”

Hyrushi nodded and pressed a few commands on his desk interface. He then looked up at James as he leaned back in his chair. “So have you given thought to after this is done? My offer still stands, you know.”
Hyrushi, Gov.
Nicholas sat forward with his elbows on his knees. “If all goes as planned, than I accept. If not, I may need more time. I can’t bring liabilities back with me…” he took a beat. “Either way I intend to accept.”
