Mia watched the two kids playing in their temporary quarters aboard the passenger shuttle Alliance. They were now 10 minutes out from OED V. Mia felt a surge of excitement at the thought of returning to her beloved OED.Nic and Em were 5 now and were excited for a new adventure. Mia had explained that they wete born on OED, but to them this was an exciting move.
Mia had them gather up their toys and put them back in the crate they had with them. She heard the clearance given for docking. Mia initialized the transport tags, took the twins by the hand and headed for the docking port. The nanny had arrived several days ago and had their quarters mostly squared away.
With excitement and a hint of trepidation the trio stepped onto the docking ring and their newish old life.

A middle-aged Bajoran woman moved out of the crowd and walked toward the trio. “Excuse me, are you Lieutenant Commander Salazar-Murphy? Ma’am, the Governor of OED V wanted to express his pleasure at having you as part of the Star Fleet contingent of the colony. With the recent arrival of the new Lieutenant Governor, Governor Hyrushi took it upon himself to make sure that you were not hindered upon your arrival. Please, follow me. We have a shuttle waiting to take you to the terminal on the surface, and then a vehicle waiting to take you to your quarters. I’m sure the Lieutenant Governor will calling for you soon.” and she gestured to a hallway void of the mass of people making their way to and from the surface. “Lots going on, Commander… a great deal of changes. Hopefully all for the better.” she said as she led the family down the hall.
Ms. Black, Aide
Mia smiled and followed Ms. Black toward the shuttle. The children were gawking at the station. “That’s what I’ve heard.” Mia said “Glad that I can be a part of it.” She said.

Ms. Black smiled and led them down the passageway and to a small hanger in which sat a planetary shuttle. It was comfortable, but not ‘luxurious’. As the family boarded the craft, A Bolian in the pilot’s chair turned and smiled. “Welcome to OED, everyone. I’ll have you down to the surface in two shakes.” and he mumbled something into the comms and the craft lifted off the deck and went smoothly forward and into space.
The view of the planet below was striking, but what was most noticeable was the amount of traffic. Shuttles, freighters, cargo haulers, and private craft made a complex dance between the surface and the various orbital installations. Also noticeable was the number of larger vessels orbiting the planet, and from a myriad of different species. There was even a truly massive Klingon warship visible, the model of which was unknown to new Fleet Chief Engineer. Ms. Black said “We have had a 450 percent increase in mining production and a massive influx of new arrivals to support the growth the Governor is pushing for, Commander. Halloway Heavy Industries has also relocated from Sol system to here in the past few months, so there are huge increases in… well… everything.”
Ms. Black, Aide
Mia nodded “I’ve heard of Holloway Heavy. They are a solid company and from everything I’ve heard are probably more by the books than most companies.” She said as she looked at the various ships, pointing to the Klingon ship “New class for the Klingons?” She asked curiously, she knew she had been out of the game for a bit, but didn’t think she had been gone that long.

Ms. Black looked but it was the pilot that spoke up. ” IKS Drohl’Gah. Second one of its kind. The new Kvaar’ton class. Commanded by the head of the Klingon Nobel House Duroc. From what I hear, the guy is nuts. But that ship is massive. Not sure how comfortable folks are with a dreadnought hanging over their heads, but so far they’ve been very pro-colony.”
Ms. Black scowled for a moment and then said “Apologies for Hadz, Commander. He is a bit of a gossip.” and she lightly pushed his shoulder and said low “Stop.” and the Bolian chuckled and then begn their decent.
