The new Intel headquarters was finally coming together as more than just two computers in a room. Nicholas had an office, and it wasn’t just a front this time. He spent most of his time at his desk, watching three monitors with live feeds of sensor data from all around OED. Usually he wasn’t watching anyone or anything in particular, but this particular evening, a Starfleet ensign had caught his eye. He wasn’t sure why, this one just seemed… off.

The longer he watched, the more he questioned why he was doing it. This seemed like a perfectly normal person. There was something in his gut, some instinct told him to hold on just a little while longer.

He kept watching and waiting. Waiting and watching.

In public she was always escorted by the big bulky terrifying Breen body guard. That side of Eryn Romanov, eccentric famous artist was fun, but restrictive. The art she was producing, slowly, was bringing a nice prophet. The properties they had purchased were very lucrative and Danivica was worth more than her weight in latinum. Rarely did Eryn go as ‘Eryn’ without Vonn around. But today she was without the hulking mass that was quieter than a shadow. Or at least…she thought she was. That made her grin. She input her credentials at the access door the to the run down little warehouse that opened into a nice setup and staging point for the Colonial Intelligence Agency. The door closed behind her with an overly noticeable snick in the quiet. She unwrapped the scarf from her head and let the tails hang down from her shoulders as she strode through the space. She grinned wickedly at a couple of the techs that looked at her wide eyes and elbowed each other. Later she could mess with them.

She walked right into James’ office, draped herself into a chair and looked at him. Eryn was most likely a thorn in James’ side at this point. She was irreverent, and flippant and reckless. Or was she? She was also thorough, got every job done, was discrete, and only created a scene if it was necessary. And a master of personas. She watched James for a moment. “Vhat’s got you all knotted up, James?” Today her Russian accent was in full force, and it came and went with the wind and her mercurial mood.

“This guy.” He pointed to the screen. “He’s up to something but god knows what. He hasn’t even made a move yet, but I need to see it when he does.”

-Nicholas James

Eryn leaned around look at the monitor, she watched a few minutes, “He is not vhoever he is pretending to be. Vatch.” After a moment Eryn pointed to where the man was reaching up and rubbing at a spot behind his left ear. “He is not used to cosmetic surgery to alter his features. It itches. Plus…” she rolled the recording back, “look at zhe way he looks at his hands, like he does not recognize them. He is either very green at zhis or he vants to be noticed.”

“Good eye.” Nicholas said. “So, do we pick him up on mere suspicion, or do we wait for him to try something? If he vants” for a second he mimicked her accent. “to be noticed, he has already succeeded.” The question remained however, if the disguise was for genuine use, what was his goal? And how long could Nicholas wait before extracting that answer?

-Nicholas James

“No bad,” Eryn laughed, a wholly amused sound and grinned at him. “James, suspicion is our measure of value. Ve pay for information based on zhe value of our suspicions. If your not ready to buy, perhaps ve should go vindow shopping? You do remember how zo trail someone and play a persona?” Eryn winked at him.

Nicholas’ eyes shifted colors from ice blue to dull brown “Better for blending in, don’t you agree?” He stood up. “If you need to prepare, do it quickly. I have something very stereotypical to do.” He opened his top desk drawer and withdrew a phaser. It then went inside his suit jacket. He stuffed a large PaDD under his arm and figured dull as dishwater businessman

“Ready to go?” He asked.

The eyes were a nice touch and if Eryn could get off planet for it, it was on her list of alterations Eryn turned her back reaching into an unobtrusive bag across strapped holster style to her thigh. Running her fingers in quick motion released several pins that took her hair from short cropped to shoulder length and full bodied. A little cosmetics and a small oval case were returned after barely use. The scarf was whipped off and tied around her waist making a very feminine effect of a chiffon skirt over leggings look. A black-eyed Betazoid woman turned back to look at him, her voice light but rather plain. She slipped an arm into his elbow, “And where are you taking me for lunch, dear?”
