As Conrad left, Kristina slipped off the bed and followed him out into the hallway. “Where the hell do you think you’re going? You are not leaving me here to deal with this. You brought them here, you’re a part of this too!” she said, trying to keep her voice hushed even as she felt a surge of anger. “Did you see what she was able to do to me? Even my sister can’t do that. Her abilities aren’t like that.”

Michael turned around to face Kristina, his voice hushed as well so as not to bring too much attention to himself. “I did see what she did to you. It seems that you and I are on the same page. That woman is not your sister. So what more is there for us to do? I’m just concerned taxi driver in all this it would seem.” He used one hand and gestured to the room. “They now know how to get a hold of me, just like your sister did…discreetly. I don’t like attention on me and my ship, and media is the last thing I need in my life. But you’re welcome to join me if you want” he replied, listening to her as he slowly walked backwards.

She wanted to. A part of her wanted to say hell with this crazy situation and let someone else deal with it. But though that woman in the bed was not her sister as she knew it, she was someone who was close enough and whom had found themselves in trouble. The part of her Kristina who had been abducted and found herself in the middle of a crazy situation understood what it was like to not know where you where pr what you should do. She hadn’t spoke to anyone in any detail about what transpired between her and the Clerics of Ashein but it had been enough that she had been changed, not so unlike how Halai had been all those years ago.

Her gaze shifted back towards the room for a moment. “I can’t leave her,” she said softly, returning her vivid blue eyes to Conrad. “Maybe it’s crazy, but I’m involved now. If this situation is what we think it is, then they are alone here, and I’m the closest they have to a friendly face. But I can give you an update later?”

Conrad nodded and walked back to her, pulling out a small device out of his pocket. He put the same hand in her own, as though to others, he were consoling her. “Big button communicates directly to me. Small button is emergency transport to the Sparrow. Update me when you can.” he spoke in a low voice.

Her fingers slipped the device from his, holding it securely as his hand held hers. His touch was warm and unexpected, even if the gesture was practical.

Conrad then backed up again once more. “Take good care of her,” he said a bit louder this time.

“I’ll do my best, but something tells me they are pretty good at it themselves,” Kristina said with a lopsided smirk.

Her gaze lingered a moment before she spun on the ball of her foot and headed back into the room.

Michael, of course, was never once to waste time. He didn’t immediately turn, but watched her pretty behind bounce its way back to the room. As he turned he almost walked right into a nurse. “Oh, Sorry.”

He quickly moved down to Kanok who was shaking his head and leaving.

“Ah,” the nurse dropped the supplies she had grabbed off a cart to put away. “Oh it’s okay. It’s a little crowded in here.” How interesting As she worked she watches the pair move off.

The news was playing in the small break room. Hearing the current story the woman moved toward the room, “Dr may I speak with you?”

Leading him a bit away, “It seems your patient has attracted the medias attention. You might was to alert hospital security before we have an influx of nosey people.”
