Eela smiled. “I don’t mind at all. But just remember that just because things have been a certain way in one place, doesn’t mean they are everywhere. But I’m glad things are running smoothly up here.” In all honesty it meant one less place she’d have to focus on just now. Her attention was slowly being split in so many directions that she needed a few things to be running smoothly enough that she could not worry about it just now.

Eventually, she was led to Tenkiller’s office and she gave the AIC a grateful bow of her head.

Stepping in with confidence, Eela was also relaxed in a way that he hadn’t seen her before. “Good day, Major General,” she said with a smile.

The office was spacious for a station workspace, and the far wall was a window that looked out over the platform in a sweeping panoramic view.

The office was organized and efficient, as one would expect, but the personal items inside were unique. On shelves around the room were items most would be unfamiliar with past the basics: Various pieces of leather decorated with paint and beads. Feathers of some large bird. A hide drum. Pictures of people who shared the complexion of the man seated at the desk as the doors opened… a weathered reddish-brown skin and deep black hair and dark brown eyes. A large skull of some black-horned animal hung high on the wall behind the desk. Below it, in a transparent case, was a large hide-like shirt with intricate bead-work and adorned with feathers on the shoulders. A beaded necklace hung around the neck. On a shelf next to the door sat an odd-angled club and some kind of axe-like tool. Unlike the rest of the items, these seemed to be both easily accessible… and well cared for and used.

Tenkiller rose and said “Afternoon, Ma’am. Hope the trip up was okay. Have a seat and we can get started.”

“It was fine. I could hear people grumbling about the number of checkpoints but it feels rather normal to me all told,” she said as she took a moment to move over and examine the items on display with no less contemplation than she had shown the pieces at the gallery opening. She paused longer at the shirt and the necklace and a small murmur escaped her lips. “Her work if extraordinarily beautiful. I know how skilled one has to be to make work that delicately intricate.”

Eela pulled herself away from the pieces almost with regret before taking a seat at Tenkillers desk. “How many people have you narrowed it down to?”
