=A= Security is still a… bit… tight right now, as you can imagine!=A= Harris chuckled before pressing on. =A= That said, I’m certain Senior Officials could pop by for a visit. Though, I think I should be well enough to head home soon. The team here at Sacred Heart deserve a raise…=A= He chuckled once more… a bit louder this time. =A= … at least in this old aviator’s opinion. As for guests, I’ve gotten to see a few friends and family. Rolled over to check on Lucas yesterday…=A= Harris grimaced slightly. =A=… they said I have to move via a damned hoverchair for a few more days… anyway, Lucas is also in good spirits since coming around. Though I think my old friend will be a… guest… of this fine establishment for another month or two.=A=

Dasca cut an elegant figure as she gazed up at the Harris. She waited till Harris replied before she said anything and then gave the man a smile. “General Harris, I wish we were talking under better circumstances, but later when appropriate I look forward to meeting in person.” Given she had arrived after the man was in the hospital, they had yet to actually meet, but Tenkiller had been excellent to work with thus far.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

=A= As do I Ma’am…=A= The General replied smartly with a sharp nod of the head. =A= I do hope General Tenkiller has been as helpful an Okie as I would be!=A= He smiled again, shifting a bit to sit up a little straighter. =A= After the Wardens release me, we’ll have to grab lunch. I find conversations over food run a lot smoother=A=

Gen Harris, CCDA

The smile Dasca offered the General was sincere. “That sounds like a great idea. Let me know when you’ve escaped and we’ll set something up. In the meantime, yes. the Major General has proven to be a valuable associate. My new security detail is working out beautifully.”

Tiberius was running a little behind. He was in the middle of a security check when the request to come to the Governor’s office came through. He had hoped he had not missed a ton of what was going on but rushed in and responded, “I am sorry for my lateness. I was in the middle of some security drills and could not drop out in the middle of them. I hope I have not missed much and I apologize for my tardiness.” He looked around and there only seemed to be a few people in here so he was hoping he had not missed a ton. He always hated being late. Tiberius always felt he was interrupting when he was late. It had always driven him nuts. He awaited for a response and sat down.

Lt Cmdr Cattaneo
Cheif of Security

A human man of Asian ancestry stood up- long, straight, black hair falling down his back almost to his waist- and he he inclined his head. “You are not late. We are still waiting for some more to arrive.” He walked slowly and purposefully towards the Star Fleet Security Chief and extended a hand. The two men were almost identical in height and weight, and completely jet-black eyes stared at Cattaneo. “I am Governor Kenzo B’tren-Hyrushi. You must be Lieutenant Commander Cattaneo. Welcome to Oed V, Commander.”

Hyrushi, Governor

“Hello Governor B’tren-Hyrushi. I am looking forward to working with you and the others.” Tiberius responded. He was excited to meet everyone as he was still very new to Oed V and not had a chance to meet everyone. He was hoping he could remember everyone meeting them like this. He generally liked meeting them one by one instead of being overwhelmed with all the new people. This was something he was working on. He was good at reading situations and combat information related to the location he was but trying to remember names, was always a downfall. He was curious to understand what was currently occurring on the colony.

Eela gestured to the seating area. “Have a seat Commander and don’t worry if you feel out of the loop. Everyone else is too and you’re about to be read in.”

Nicholas slunk into the Governor’s office, a somewhat familiar place to him. He looked more tired than usual, though trying his best certainly to hide it.

The Haliian studied the newcomer intently. He was someone else she had’t met yet, though Dasca surmised that the Governor would include her in intelligence briefings going forward so she’d likely get to know him better over time. If nothing else today, his insights could be very helpful to her understanding certain aspects of the colony. “I’d suggest caffeine but by the time we’re through this meeting, people might desire something stronger.” She thought it interesting (and probably telling) that the man had came into the office and remained silent.

Nicholas smiled darkly. “Skip the coffee. If we’re all here on short notice, we’re going to need the strong stuff sooner than later. Any hints, Lieutenant Governor Dasca?” Given Nicholas’ field, it was not surprising that he knew who the major government players were at any time. Though whether he was often recognized was another matter altogether.

Dasca smirked. “Now where would the fun in that be, Director James?” she said easily, even as the tension from earlier sat under the surface. She was still angry as hell, but it wasn’t anything to do with any of these people, so she was keeping it tucked away as best she could.

“I think we’re just waiting for Commissioner Karlson and Major General Tenkiller,” Eela commented.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

The doors opened as the Lt. Governor spoke and a dark red-skinned man walked in. “Apologies for the late arrival, ladies and gentlemen. Had an issue that needed rectified on the platform before I could get away.” Major General Charles Tenkiller walked into the room and acknowledged the Governor and Lieutenant Governor with a quick nod of his head and then said “I have the CCDA’s file on the recent events and some high-level projections of potential risks and exposures for everyone when you are ready.” and he took a seat as directed by a gesture from the Governor.

Tenkiller, CCDA Vice-Commander

Nicholas studied the newcomer. The name sounded familiar from some old starfleet file, though he couldn’t place it.

-CIA Director

Eela nodded to Tenkiller. “Good, we’ll need those,” she said before sitting more upright and taking in everyone in the room and Harris on the screen. “If you haven’t seen the video footage or heard the news yet, a few hours ago there was an incident at the House Duroc Embassy wherein a group of Starfleet officers tried to enact an arrest warrant for an AWOL officer, one Lieutenant Luis Vargas, who was known to be hiding out at the Embassy. This might have been fine if it were not for the fact that the Lieutenant Commander leading the four-person team showed up armed in contravention of standard protocols and arrangements we have with the Embassy. When questioned about this, the leader became belligerent and aggressive and insulted the Commander of the Klingon security force there. Let’s just say that he was damn lucky that the response was as… gentle as it was, or things could have bene much worse.

“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Starfleet forces stationed here, I of course was informed about the incident shortly after it happened and went to see Lord Duroc. In the subsequent conversation, many disturbing details came to light. Yes, Luis Vargas is technically AWOL, but not without just cause. In my subsequent investigation I have discovered that he was all but forced to that action due to the negligent and cruel behaviour of those above him in the chain of command. Lord Duroc even said he’d have allowed the arrest to happen, despite the fact that Vargas has been accepted into House Duroc, if it were not for the Starfleet commander’s actions at the gates. In order to not intensify the animosity between Starfleet and the colony, Lord Duroc and I have since issued a statement explaining that it was a misunderstanding. I’ve apologized on behalf of Starfleet and Lord Duroc has expressed that they have no ill will towards the organization. We have done this because Lord Duroc has pointed out that the timing of this incident is suspicious. It’s very close to the attack that happened in the city centre,” she said, gesturing to Harris. “And it’s hard to know just now if it was just a convenient time in order to offer someone a distraction from other matters, or if there is a more serious threat to the colony occurring. That is what we all need to discuss here.

“As far as the Starfleet side of it, rest assured that I am taking care of it. I have spent the last three hours digging through records and speaking with someone with first hand knowledge of the wrong doing of several officers. That part of it will be handled by myself, Commander Cattaneo here and Captain McBride, after I’ve consulted with Judge Rousseau. I’m no legal expert but I do know the Starfleet Uniform Code of Conduct and off the top of my head I have three Lieutenant Commanders, one Commander and one Admiral who could and should all be charged with a mixture of the following-“Eela counted them off on her fingers as she spoke-“Conspiracy, Cruelty and maltreatment, Falsifying official statements, Communicating Threats, Conduct Unbecoming, Negligence, Noncompliance with Procedural Rules and Misallocation of Resources. And I have less than a month to deal with this before some of those officers are put in a position of authority on a deep space mission where they could very well cause the deaths of many. I’m not about to let that happen, so know that heads are about roll and I’m definitely not going to be on people’s good list but I frankly don’t give a sh!t since these officers have made a mockery of Starfleet and are a disagree to the oath that so many swore and believe in.” She managed to keep her cool, but it was clear by the ferocity in her eyes that Dasca was nothing short of furious.

She gestured with her hands. “That’s the situation. Let’s discuss how this impacts Oed and our fundamental security if Lord Duroc is indeed correct about someone outside the colony interfering here. This might actually just be a Starfleet issue, but I think it would be prudent to take all precautions going forward.” Eela cast a quick glance at Tenkiller with something of an apologetic look. All she could think of was that comment he had made in their private discussion at the art gallery about her making her security team’s life difficult. He wasn’t wrong.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Nicholas massaged his temples. He inhaled deeply and then turned his focus to what was being said. “It would make sense, to me, if all of this had an outside author. The protest would make a good cover for other activities. Maybe prepping for this Embassy foolishness. Likely more. They had our undivided attention for a couple hours and that is more than enough. We need to sweep every entry log and security camera around then.”
