Breathing women are his undoing.” Urg said and laughed. Sven shrugged and said “He isn’t really wrong.” and smiled and walked over to confer with the other trainers. Urg looked at the group and then down at Astrid. “Justice, I can provide you with a security detail, if you wish. And something subtle, not a force of armed Klingons equipped for battle.” and he thought for a moment. “Although that would be a deterrent, wouldn’t it.” and he looked at her and winked. “But the offer remains. I know the Oed Police offered as well, but i wanted you to know that you… have friends. We, my House, want to see Oed thrive. And the rule of law is paramount to that.”

Urg, Lord Duroc

She shook her head ruefully and looked up at Lord Duroc as his tone turned more serious. His offer was a good one and she would be stupid to refuse, especially considering the unrest as of late. She could tell that he was being genuine. His concern for her was real enough to him that he projected it. Astrid reached up and touched the large Klingon’s arm. “How can I say no to that.” she replied softly, more a statement than a question.

She gave him a soft smile and squeezed his arm a bit before dropping her own. “You will need to coordinate that with the Chief though. I don’t want conflicting Security staff. And I would want to meet each of them so I know who they are when they are watching over me and I will have final say over each one. If I do not trust my staff, I cannot feel safe enough to be me and do my work.”

“So shall it be.” Urg said and then looked up at the trainers. “Get me the list right away.” and Sven nodded once and turned and left the gym. Urg looked at Astrid and said “I will send the list of candidates to you and you can select whom you wish. And I will speak to Karlson in person and make sure we are not getting in each other’s way. Once you have your potential candidates selected, we will set up a time for you to meet them at your home. You will have the final say in who works for you, absolutely.”

Urg, Lord Duroc

She was surprised that Lord Duroc moved so quickly to get the security staff issue settled. She glanced at Sven as he turned and left the gym. Like her, Urg obviously valued dedicated staff… or what constituted staff on his ship, a crew. “Again you have honored me Lord Duroc.” She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “It has been long since I have had a trusted friend.”

Rousseau, HotJ

Urg looked down at the Justice and smiled. “It is me you honor by calling me that.” Sven returned a moment later with a PaDD and handed it to Lord Duroc. “Here.” the Klingon said and handed it to Astrid. “A list of candidates and their records. Some of those records may give you pause. I recommend looking past previous transgressions. Every individual on that list I personally recommend. And I trust them with my life. So I trust them with yours.”

The PaDD contained a few dozen names and records. Some were retired military from various worlds. Some were former Star Fleet personnel. And some were outright criminals. But all were part of House Duroc, and all had been chosen specifically by Urg. There were notes on each from him giving his reasons for each being selected, as well. “The choice is yours. Take as few or as many as you wish. They will be your guards and protectors. Many will blend in, some few won’t… nor should they. They are there to make a statement. I trust in your selection, Justice. And House Duroc stands by to assist you.”

Urg, Lord Duroc

She took her time looking at the list. It was interesting to say the least. The fact that he trusted them with his own life was telling despite how they may look on paper. She could not in good conscience choose outright criminals. No matter how trusted they may have been by Lord Duroc, she had a reputation to maintain for the safety of OED V and its people. She had to be careful about who she surrounded herself with, even concerning her own security. She made a selection of 12. Astrid figured that they would be able to take shifts and relief for each other where necessary. “One person can be with my main security body. One person can blend in and watch without drawing attention. Im sure they will figure out what they need to do. Of course, this is contingent on the Police Commissioner approving of course.”

She passed back the PaDD back to him. “So, How do you feel about rehabilitation programs for people who are done with their incarceration?”

Rousseau, HotJ

Urg motioned her to follow him. “A conversation best suited for some place other than a fighting circle.” he said. As they walked out into the passageway of the ship, Urg said “I believe it would depend on the nature of the criminal. Criminals are not a caste or a specific segment of any society. Some are criminal by nature. Some are criminal by necessity. Some can be rehabilitated. Some simply can’t… or the nature of their crimes preclude rehabilitation. But those that have served their time, I believe they deserve the opportunity to prove that they can contribute.” and he looked down at her. “And how do you see that, Justice?”

Urg, Lord Duroc

She smiled. She couldn’t help it. Lord Duroc and her seemed to be two of a kind. Astrid followed him, rolling her shoulders that had begun to tighten post-spar. She would do an extra long yoga session later to really stretch things out. “Just so Lord Duroc. Just so. I may have a special project for you in the near future but as you say, a conversation for another time.”

Rousseau, HotJ

He led her through the ship and they came to a door with two guards on either side. They saluted with fists on chest and Urg ducked through the door and inside. The room was, apparently, his Ready Room. Lit in red as was the preference of Klingons, it was dark and severe and seemed to suit the chaotic commander of the ship. “Please sit.” and he indicated a chair in front of a plassteel desk i laid with a computer interface. “Drink?” he asked as he poured a goblet of Blood Wine.

Urg, Lord Duroc

She stepped inside and let her eyes wander. Personal spaces could tell a lot about a person. She was much more of a bright and open space person, but she assumed open spaces were hard to come by on ships. Even though the areas of the ship were dim, his ready room was more so and it took a few moments for her to adjust. THen she took a seat. “Yes. Its been ages since I have had blood wine.”
