At the security office, a priority alert was sent directly to Lieutenant Commander Cattaneo informing him that Lieutenant Governor Dasca would be arriving shortly related to the arrest warrant that he had received a short while ago.

The warrant was issued from the Judge Advocate General’s office for the arrest of Lieutenant Commander Ans’lik, one the shift leaders within the Starfleet contingent. The charges being cited were Conspiracy, Conduct Unbecoming, Noncompliance with Procedural Rules and Misallocation of Resources.

Tiberius received the alert and decided he needed to head to the Starfleet security office to see what was going on. He finished up his drink and then stood up and walked out of the restaurant he was sitting at. It took him about 5 minutes to walk back to the security office. He was hoping he was able to get back before Dasca. When he walked through the sliding door for the security office, he saw Dasca already waiting on him. He was disappointed. He then said to Dasca, “Sorry for not being present already. Welcome to the Starfleet security Lt Governor Dasca. I am Lt Cmdr Cattaneo, the Chief of Security for Star-fleet. I do not believe we have officially meet. How can I help you today?” Tiberius was hoping this was a good meeting and not some frustration by the Lt Governor. He was aware there was a large amount of tension between Star-fleet and most of the leaders here on Oed V. He then waited for a response.

Dasca frowned deeply. “Did you not get the message and the warrant?” she asked, wondering how much she had to explain. She had been the one to summon him to the briefing about the Vargas incident and he had introduced himself then, so her confusion was doubly deep. For a brief moment she was concerned if he was up for handling the delicacy of this situation but it was a bit late now. She was here to make sure everything went smoothly.

Tiberius had to verify what specifically she was talking about. He had received the data on his data padd and it just had gotten lost in everything going on. He then responded, “I am sorry, I remember what you are speaking with. I am just getting everything straighten up with everything going on and trying to work everything out in a positive way. I know the colony wants Star-fleet to stay our of the way with most things. Just let me know where we can help with the warrant. We are here to help out and not overtake anything you all are doing.” He then waited for a response. He wanted to be delicate with the whole situation because of the tension between Star-fleet and the colony.

Dasca held up a hand, her frown intensifying. She was seriously dumbfounded and suddenly a bit nervous about this situation. “I do not understand that response. You were given an arrest warrant for Starfleet officer who has committed crimes and was a part of the same conspiracy I debriefed everyone on in the Governor’s office when we first met. You are about to execute that arrest and I am here to make sure it goes smoothly because as soon as we do this I have to give a public statement to makes it damn clear that the bad behaviour that has been going on and came to Oed end here and now and will never be tolerated. If you are not prepared to do this with me, Commadner, I will find someone who is.”

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Tiberius had apparently dropped the ball somewhere but he was ready. He just needed to make sure the Lt. Gov. was aware of this. “Ma’am, I am ready to execute to arrest. Are we going to proceed to doing it now?” Tiberus went ahead and looked at Dasca to see if she made a move towards the door as he motioned to the door as if he was ready to handle the arrest. He then waited for a moment before moving.

While still uncertain about him, this had to happen now. “That was the plan,” Dasca replied moving to and through the door, her security detail, letting her go about her business since they weren’t supposed to go farther within the complex.

In the corridor, she dropped her voice. “Lieutenant Commander Ans’lik responded to the Klingons with aggression and was fortunate to not get himself killed doing so. If that had been the whole of it, he would have simply received a reprimand and, presuming Lord Duroc was satisfied with whatever apology we insisted Ans’lik make, we all would have moved on. However, this situation is delicate and I’ve been very careful to keep it under wraps. Which means that the rest of the security department does not know what he’s been involved in. I expect their obedience in this matter. The orders are clear and even if they are uncomfortable, they will follow through and allow Ans’lik to be taken into custody.”

Eela stopped and gazed at Cattaneo intently. “However, we must also be prepared that his lies have been in other areas and to other people. It is possible he’s convinced his comrades that he’s some sort of victim in all of this. Captain McBride told me that he was less than contrite when he followed up about the incident. McBride also knows that you and I are doing this and will keep an eye on things but we should be prepared for the small possibility that he will make a fuss and others might hesitate. But you are in charge of the arrest. Do what you need to do. I’m here as the Commander-in-Chief who has to deal with Starfleet Command and report back. As I understand it, the other arrests are all happening roughly today as well, wherever those people are. Don’t underestimate the brush fire for Starfleet that this will be and that the press will be all over this.”

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Tiberus responded, “Lets do this”. He then turned around and walked out the door. As he was walking to the door, he nodded to two of the Security team members to follow him. He expected that Eela would follow him. After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at where he believed Ans’lik was based on the previous scan. He arrived at Ans’lik’s office and believed he did not need to ring the bell but he thought it would be a good start. He then rang the bell. He waited to see if the commander would respond before forcing himself in. After a minute or two of nothing, he went ahead and started typing in his override code and entered the room. he saw that Ans’lik was sitting at his desk. As he walked in, Tiberus said, “I am Lt Cmdr Cattaneo, head of Star-fleet security. I am placing you under arrest for Conspiracy, Conduct Unbecoming, Noncompliance with Procedural Rules, and Misallocation of Resources. You will go to trail to face these charges. Please come with us peacefully or I will be forced to put you in constraints.” Tiberius hoped this would be smoothly.

The Andorian stared at Cattaneo and then flicked his gaze to Dasca. “You’ve got to be joking.”

“I assure you, Mr. Ans’lik, we are not. And of course you have the right to silence and a legal representative. Anything you say and will be used in a court of law.” Eela did not bother addressing him by his rank, as quite frankly she didn’t think he deserved it.

Ans’lik rose, anger flooding his face. “How exactly do those charges fit what happened at the Embassy?”

Dasca was calm as she drew closer, rolling her shoulders back and tipping her chin up slightly. “They are not, or rather not directly except for the fasley obtained warrant. Though Captain McBride has gone on record saying regarding your lack of remorse at the insult given to the Klingons that had the potential to damage the colony’s important partnership with them. No, this is about Luis Vargas, and Belindre Hdla-C’thol, Gren C’thol, Jackson Hyde and others. Not to mention, of course, the nepotistic puppet master of this all, one Admiral Durellian Q’inn,” she said sweetly with a smile to match.

His anger fast faded into shock. “But…” He shook his head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” he growled.

Eela glanced at Cattaneo, her raised brows pressing against her brow ridges. “Lying to an empath isn’t a crime, but it does seem rather stupid under the circumstances, don’t you think Commander?”

Dasca gestured for Tiberius to go ahead and take the man into custody. Ans’lik was trapped with them in his ofice and there really wasn’t anywhere to go. And yet that didn’t stop him from trying to flee past Cattaneo into the corridor, bumping against Dasca as he went. Her hand flew out to brace herself as she fell against the wall and she just shook her head. “Oh dear. How unnecessarily dramatic,” she mused.

OOC: Working on a long response for this. Should be able to update tomorrow or Sunday.
