Kek nodded enthusiastically. “YES YES. We were suggested that, too! Thank yous all. It would be Vren honor to accept such an invitation. We will bring Vren foodstuffs for banquet.” and he shook his head. “And not offended when few eat. Different diets for different worlds.” He was silent a moment and said “We have request. From Senate leadership.” He took a breath and said “Relocation of Vren nurseries. We fear more loss of our young. Oed has capability of construction of habitat capable of housing nurseries. We also for such to be built. Vren will live and attend to young there until hatcheds. Young will be sent back to us. Temporary until situation is remedied. And if not possible to rectify…” and for the first time the assembled people could see what a Vren looked like when heartbroken, “… then at least Vren children survive.”

Kek, Vren Ambassador

Kenzo’s eyes went wide for a long moment. He composed himself and said “Ambassador, we completely understand your desire to protect uour children. As a person, I would have no issue with that. But as Governor… I will not say no, but that will have to be discussed when you arrive. And we will make that a priority item on the agenda.”

Hyrushi, Governor

Mathis nodded slowly. “I’ll add it.” There were dozens of considerations to be made for that request alone and she knew it would be a tough one even if it seemed reasonable on the surface. Her and Hyrushi had been careful not to make specific promises and only communicate the information as they knew it. This would fundamentally change the way Oed saw the Vren presence. It was only supposed to be a negotiating contingent, but now they were talking long term presences. Good Lord that would be a mess to untangle.

“Are there other requests you can share now so that we can begin to form that agenda?” Jeanette asked.

~Ambassador Mathis

Kek waited a moment and then said “We understands the… the… largeness is not the word but will do… the largeness of the request just said. As that is a- ENORMITY! That is word! As the enormity of the request is large, we have no other requests at this times now.” and he bowed his head slightly. “We await your needs and rules, ands hopes that we can be accomodate.”

Kek, Vren Ambassador

Her brows knit into a frown and Eela leaned forward, resting her arms on her thighs as she gazed at Kek. “Ambassador Kek,” she said gently. “Yes, you do ask something enormous of us, but, and I can’t stress this enough, regardless of the mixed feelings the people of Oed might have about this whole situation, above all we want you to maintain your dignity. Your people do deserve that, whatever might have happened in the past. We’re all going to have to move forward mindful that the goal isn’t to punish Tutsikara for the past, even if people can’t forget it. Does that make sense?”

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Kek looked up for a moment. It was impossible to read facial expressions on him, but after a long moment he nodded slightly. “Dignity…” and he seemed to dwell on the word a while. “Dignity is good. And much thanks you for the gesture. Vren wish to approach as equals.. neighbor with problem asking other neighbor for helps. We knows the past is problem. We cannot change it. So we ask no mentions of it during talks. We acknowledge the wrongedness done in the past. Dwelling on prevents moving forward.”

Kek, Vren Ambassador

Jeanette wore a soft smile at Dasca’s gesture and nodded. “I think we can agree to leave it out of our talks, but we can’t guarantee that the citizens will be able to. So that is something you will need to understand as you interact with them.”

“And this topic does bring up a point that I think bears discussing. We… understand that it had to have bene a difficult task getting your senate to agree to contact the Federation for help. What sort of resistance have you been facing to this path forward, and is there anything we should know about in advance of your arrival so we can protect our talks? We know about the Cult of Imog. Have they been more vocal lately?”

~Ambassador Mathis
