NEWS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oed V, Stardate 76182.19 - As a follow up to a previous statement by Captain Eela Dasca and Lord Duroc regarding an incident between embassy staff and Starfleet security personnel several months ago, an investigation was conducted by the Commander-in-Chief of Oed’s Starfleet Forces that has resulted in further action.

This investigation uncovered that not only was the incident at the embassy triggered by a falsely obtained arrest warrant, but that it was but one action in a long string of misconduct by a group of officers over a period of many years. Not only have their actions put the lives of their fellow officers and crew potentially in danger but they have caused significant harm to specific individuals.

The evidence uncovered during the investigation has been turned over to the Judge Advocate General’s Office and, subsequently, multiple charges have been laid regarding five Starfleet officers. Legal arrest warrants have been executed, including one for the security officer who instigated the events at the House of Duroc embassy. Specifics are unavailable as these are active court cases.

The Lieutenant Governor has the following to say about the matter: “Let me be very clear that the actions of these officers are a disgrace to the oath sworn by all who don a Starfleet uniform. There is never a place for bullying amongst our ranks and conspiring to cause misery to an individual is beyond reprehensible. It will not be tolerated in Starfleet and it will not be tolerated here on Oed. Oed V will also not tolerate interference in its operations from individuals within Starfleet who have no business doing so.”

Captain Dasca (Commander-in-Chief) and Captain McBride (Commanding Officer) will also remove any officer or crew who demonstrate a contempt for the code of conduct and seek to cause harm to others here on Oed. Dasca has confirmed that House Duroc is satisfied with the outcome of the investigation.
