Carsyn Kolchak sat at her desk, she was getting a Royal chewing out from her boss, Samuel Oedkoven. “Just tell me how you missed out on one of the most important news stories to hit the Federation. A bloody colony addresses THE COUNCIL OF THE UNITED FEDERATION OF PLANETS and demand to be treated as a partner in the Federation. My god Kolchak you realize what havoc and chaos that announcement caused. Yet, you somehow missed out on this. Tell me how that is possible?” Carsyn sat back and pursed her lips before responding. “Well Sam it is very simple. You know that story I submitted about the Federation and Vren beginning diplomatic negotiations; it would seem I hit a nerve with Governor Kenzo B’tren-Hyrushi and Federation Ambassador Jeannette Mathis. I was called into a meeting with the prestigious governor, were I was told to basically that I needed to be ‘impartial, factual, and objective’ otherwise he would pull the FNS press credentials from Oed V and ship me off. Since then get a feeling I am under a microscope waiting for the Gestapo to jump out and drag me away.” Sam looked at her “He actually threatened to pull the FNS press credentials?” She smiled “Yep, and did not seemed to concerned about the preeminent and totally biased newshound Kim McGonigal being sicked on him or the government.” Samuel snorted, “Okay, play nice. I’ll look into things on m yside. Out.” with that he cut transmission.
Carsyn sat back and spun her chair around for a minute “Qinrot.” she hollered “Yes, Miss Kolchak?” Qinrot replied as he appeared in the doorway of her office. “Could you please reach out to the governor’s assistant Dorma Fen and see if I may have an ‘official ‘ sit down with him about Oed V’s declaration to the Council of the United Federation of Planets. Tell her that I want to be sure I report on this in a fair and balanced way. Also while you are at it see if I can get an interview with Federation Ambassador Jeannette Mathis, again in regards to Oed V declaration, tell her I would like to get the fair and balanced version of how theCouncil of the United Fedeation of Planets feels about the declaration given by Oed V. Finally contact the executive assistant to the lieutenant governor, Cort Belanger, and ask if I may speak with them regarding the ‘Starfleet Incident’ that occurred several months ago. I want to get a better background on what transpired.” Qinrot was diligently taking notes on his PaDD, “Very well, also I think I may have found us a computer and communication technician. She is young, but her résumé is impeccable.” Kolchack blew a stra hair off her face, “Okay, send her in.”
