Office of the Head of Commerce

Posted Jan. 10, 2019, 12:15 a.m. by Civilian Stephen Binns (Head of the Chamber of Commerce) (Liam Schoepp)

The office of the Head of Commerce was quite the busy place. With all that had been going on lately, work had been piling up for those who were under Stephen Binns. Luckily for the good people of OED V, things were still moving quite smoothly, as Stephen’s previous management experience proved to work wonders on getting projects and paperwork done. However, this made the halls rather cluttered, as a young woman in a rather disorganized work outfit and skewed glasses was experiencing first hand. Holding a large stack of paper in her hands, she weaved her way in and out of the crowd, trying not to drop a single sheet. Pausing outside of Stephen’s office, she let out a sigh of relief before knocking on the door.

“Come in!” A voice called out, prompting her to gently push the door open. While Stephen had an open door policy with his employees, his assistant had made it rather clear that they should always knock before entering, in case a private matter was being attended to. As she approached the large desk in the room, Stephen looked up with a smile, “Well well, if it isn’t Patricia? I hope that the new position is treating you rather well.”

Placing the papers on a nearby coffee table, Patricia let out a sigh of relief before speaking, “Yes sir, I’m very thankful that you considered me for the position.”

Placing down the padd in his hands, Stephen waved his off her comment. “It’s no problem, I was looking for a hard worker and I found one.” Looking around, he leaned forward conspicuously. “To tell you the truth, I was also looking for someone who could brave those halls with minimal damage to themselves, something that you seem to excel at.”

Giggling slightly, Patricia felt herself relax from the tense mood she had been put into from the traffic in the halls. Gesturing towards the papers, she spoke, “I have some forms that you need to look over sir. It seems that these were left over from when the old head retired. From what we can tell, he never got to take a good look at them.”

Stephen stood up and approached the papers. “Well then, I’d better get started reading this, shouldn’t I?” Picking up a sheet, he read it out load, “Hm… The T&C, my wife does like to visit this place quite a bit. Perhaps I should go there and see what all of the excitement is about.”

Patricia bowed slightly. “If you excuse me sir, I have some more work I must finish.”

“Have a nice day!” Stephen waved off his employee before looking back to the sheet in his hands, “Now, let’s see what all of this is about, shall we?”
