“Hello there! My name is Shinzak and I am the CEO of OED V Minerals Corporation. I organized this reception. Welcome!”

“Thank you for the invite Mr. Shinzak. As I am sure you know I am Lt. Cmd Longstreet of SF Security. This is my lovely date Ms. Apolonia.” Longstreet did his best formal like introduction.
“Hello commander. I am well aware indeed.”
As Longstreet presented Apolonia, he shifted his gaze to her and nodded as he introduced her.
“A pleasure Mr. Shinzak. Wow what an important title. CEO. That sounds fantastic.” Apolona said, laying on the star struck small town girl meets big shot routine.

Shinzak, being a socially-aware person, knew that Apolonia was attempting to flatter him. The fact she seemed to date a senior Starfleet officer meant she was likely not impressed.
“It is fantastic, Ms. Apolonia,” he’d reply, seemingly humbly.
Nicholas has been watching the guests file in, making it appear as though the terraforming CEO was eager to get a bureaucrat alone to slip in a good word. Apolonia makes an appearance. Any sort of altercation or intimidation would cause too much of a scene in such confined quarters. For now, Nicholas would just listen to what she said to Longstreet. Anything might be a hint.

Shinzak was keeping an eye on the CIO. He did not invite a terraforming CEO and knew something was afoot. One of his security detail was monitoring the intruder, though given James’ status as intelligence director, it probably wouldn’t land him in a court martial.
Joseph nodded towards the Security Chief and his date, the name rang some bells although for the moment he neither knew nor cared which ones. That could wait, and if Longstreet vouched for her that was more than enough. “We haven’t had a good group meeting like this outside Cabinet meetings for some time now” Joseph mused.
”…and this is precisely why I organized this gathering. I thought I could speak a great deal about my plans for OED V’s mining and mineral processing sectors in a less formal location.”
Oed had a way of keeping everyone busy in their own corner “Anything happen worth sharing?” He asked.
Commissioner Karlson
“Absolutely. As I’ve stated earlier, I think there are lots of gem deposits on OED V. I’ve been in close contact with the legendary Gem Cutters Guild on Ferengnar which has expressed interest in sending a few of its finest over here to grow the local economy. We cannot solely depend upon mineral revenue in this day and age.”
